News Release: Doctors to Nurses (please read)
.. i think that had been going on for quite some time (i.e., transplants).. though only recently has the government joined in, marking our country's specialty in plastic surgery, cosmetic surg (bariatric i think), ophtha and dentistry... The difference was that before, only big high tech private hospitals and some specialty government hospitals were involved.. .. The tertiary government hospital i'm interning now had just recently started to showcase their specializations.. but i doubt any foreigner would be coming over for surgery:devil: .. i've got nothing against medical tourism, its a good idea in all fairness :sofahider  .. We were once told that its a way to keep the doctors from going away, that something is being done and we're needed... maybe its a good thing for those who're already specialized (and had trained abroad, say, the u.s maybe ).. but if you're just like me, at the very bottom of the food chain.. and an opportunity comes banging in your ears :icon_bigg ...

News Release: Doctors to Nurses (please read)
.. I remember numerous tv ads commending overseas workers, branding them as "heroes".. sure did raise the dollar returns .. .. a few years later.. when second coursers took the ads' challenge.. criticism and scorn arose from the very type of people who payed and dispayed those ads.. odd isn't it ... maybe economy improvement meant highly compensated employment for some (a.k.a., call center agents, medical transcriptionists..) .. well that should have been introduced way back then when we were still being asked, " what'd u wanna be when u grow up?":saint: .. and before the advent of reality ... allow me to second your comment lawrence:wink2: :wink2: .. would've been cool if my parents had their own hospital .. then again, it'll probly close due to lack of nurses and doctors

News Release: Doctors to Nurses (please read)
.. it kinda sucks to know that after you've studied for 10 years and slaved thru countless hours, all you get in return is a vegetable basket from a grateful patient or a laugh from someone came back from the brink of death .. plus some loose change that wont even cover the rent... overworked and underpaid.. whatever shall we do... Those who are opposing doctors becoming nurses are the ones too old to take up nursing

Quickest Way for Getting Things Done and Licensed in US
greetings! .. I posted this at another forum.. anyway.. I'm an rn here in the philippines and currently a medical intern (nursing was my premed).. i've taken CGFNS and IELTS and currently waiting for CGFNS certification .. I'm thinking of taking the Nclex next however the idea i get from the other threads is that i need a US state to apply to.. NY being the easiest.. however.. my dilemma is this.. I need some sort of sponsorship/agency/direct hiring agent to get in and most of them require some sort of experience (1-2 yrs) which I have none as a nurse.. How is the situation nowadays? There had been talks of saturation .. Regardless, my point is... Someone hire me! pleasse!!.. I'm single and very attractive.. And very open to relationships with guys who have the green thingy :D :rotfl:

Docs as nurses?
Hi! i'm new to this post and would like to extend my warmest regards to all .. I don't know where to put this and this was the closest topic I could find soory ... anyway, I have this problem, i'm currently a medical intern, nursing was my pre-med. I'm also a registered nurse and have passed the CGFNS and IELTS.. I'm planning to apply to an agency to work in the states as a nurse.. however, there's a 1-2 year/s experience requirement for most of them (which I have none).. I went to med school immediately after nursing school ... Could anyone please help me if you know an agency which doesn't require work experience .. What should I do? hellpp
