  1. Congrats to you, I wasn't accepted to the ADN program.
  2. I did not apply to the LVN program but I did apply to the RN program. Still awaiting my fate. If I don't get in the RN program I hope to be considered for the LVN program.
  3. Hey Misty, I took it a while ago but it was fairly simple. It had basic math on it but I do believe that it had dosage calculations on it. The spelling part is very elementary! Good luck and keep me posted. I took the test but never got a call back after that.
  4. Hello all, I was going to apply to TWU but didn't take Nutrition in time. I am now trying to get into an ADN program and will do either a RN to BSN or RN to MSN after I am done. I am going to take the TEAS on the 24th of this month January. The school I am applying to only requires the reading comprehension part so I only have to worry about that section. I was going to take Patho and Pharm at UTA but after looking at the ADN program I won't need to take it just yet. I wish you all the best but I have decided to go a more economical route as well as a quicker route for me. If I wait around to get accepted into a four year program I will be waiting a few years seeing as though I would have to retake some courses that I have B's in to bring up my GPA. My only question is what program is so many people applying to? The weekend or traditional..or both
  5. I applied to the Academic Partnership program and had to take Technical writing. It is not a difficult course at all, just a lot of busy work in my opinion. I think I got an A or B but it was simply a lot of work but nothing to worry about. I work full time and have a 2 year old and a husband so you can do it.
  6. Congrats to all that got accepted. I am really happy for you all. I am going to apply to a 2 year program and hope that that route is a bit more realistic for me to get into.
  7. I am so happy that you all spoke out and got your grades changed.
  8. That's great news, thanks so much for the quick response. Now I just have to figure out how I'm going to complete Patho, Pharm, Micro, and Nutrition before the next Spring deadline for UTA, TWU, and Brookhaven.
  9. Hello all who took Pharm and Patho at UTA, Currently I am attemptin to register for Pharm and Patho but MyMav won't allow me. I've taken all prereqs so I don't know what the problem is. I am a AP student but it keeps giving me an error message. I emailed my advisor but we all know how long that takes for a response, so I was wondering was there anything special you had to do to register for those courses. Thanks in advance, and I plan on taking one at a time. Don't want to take both of those together and work a full time job. That would make for a long 12 weeks.
  10. According to what I read it says that it is a pre-req that needs to be completed prior to applying. I hate that it's the only course keeping me from applying. I have all the other pre reqs. I will email someone for verification and if that's the case I will be mailing my application in ASAP, well after taking the TEAS V that is.
  11. Eldraper7, I apolgize but I honestly don't remember. I just finished Hist 2, and I still have access to that course so I looked at it to refresh my memory. I think there is 1 quiz for each unit. There are several map exercises which are open book, but you have to make sure you spell correctly and don't abbreviate. To make sure I'm right you can view the syllabus for the course prior to taking it. But you really don't have to worry, I hate History and Politics but I've managed to make A's and B's in those courses. I'm taking Political Government right now and I plan on getting an A to boost my GPA.
  12. Eldraper7, I think I had to write 1 paper in History 1. But it's not difficult at all. There is a team assignment that fairly simple. It was time consuming with all the reading necessary but not difficult at all. I must say that in the beginning trying to manage your way around the course is confusing on Blackboard but it gets easier as you get used to it.
  13. I was going to apply to TWU, but I am going to have to drop Nutrition. I can apply to UTA for Fall 2012 but the chances of getting accepted are highly unlikely. I'm trying to apply to Jr Colleges and if I get accepted to one of those I will jump on the chance and just do a RN to MSN.
  14. I took it, it wasn't difficult. I think I got an A or B. What exactly do you want to know.
  15. Thanks so much ladies!
  16. LOl, my apology..I guess that info would help. I was talking about UTA.
  17. I am about to send in my application for Fall 2012. Does anyone know where I can locate the information as far as application fee is concerned. I thought it was $30 for the Nursing application and I have searched the website and can't find it. The new website is different and not as informative or maybe I am just seriously nervous about sending in this application.
  18. THanks so much for the positive feedback, I really want to get into UTA but I know that it is almost like winning the lottery when your not partnered.
  19. You are correct, it is not a requirement for UTA. But many other nursing programs require it. I am applying to other programs which is why I was trying to take it at UTA. I am currently taking it at TCCC.
  20. Texas A&M, I was saying that I didn't see anything about them on the Texas BON website. So this must be very new.
  21. I looked into this, but didn't see them on the Texas BON list as filling for initial accredation. I emailed for more information so thanks for sharing. I have a friend who decided to go to ITT in Richardson TX but that is over 50k for an ADN. They only look at your hesi score and not your GPA.
  22. Hello all, I took a moment away from this forum as I was getting so very discouraged. I took the Hesi exam today and scored an 87% but my science gpa is low 3.0, I think my overall is 3.4 but should go up after I complete American History II with an A. I am now about to start studying for the Teas V. I really wanted to get into UTA but that seems like a distant dream for me at this point. Although UTA's website says that extra consideration is given if you have a degree and taken a certain amount of hours at UTA, I am not sure that will help me. I still plan on applying to the program since nothing beats a failure but a try. I hope that TWU works out for me and I hope and pray that all you ladies get into the nursing school of your dreams!
  23. Hello all, I just took the Hesi A2 to apply to UTA and now I need to start studying for the Teas V. Has anyone taken it as of yet? If so what study guide did you use.
  24. I would like to say that your first step is getting rid of the negative out look even before you get there. When you walk into the testing center, leave your negative thoughts behind. Before going in tell yourself that you will pass. There is power in positive thinking. Wishing you well
  25. Good luck everyone in Pharm and Patho. I was in it but dropped it with hopes of getting into TWU's weekend program. I am going to take Nutrition at tccd. I will be taking Government and US History at UTA, so after that all that will be left is Pharm and Patho. I didn't want to take too many courses with work and family included into all this!
