The CDU's I've heard about are areas where patient from the ER are kept until the MD decides if he's going to admit them or send them home. Like someone waiting on their cardiac enzymes to come back. This is just what I was told by a nurse I work with, she works part time in a CDU.

Hey Mia, I'm just telling you how it is in Dallas.

Hey! Texas Women's is not a hospital, it's a school. Texas Women's University. Usually new grads get internships at hospitals. If you did not apply to one, it's probably too late for the fall, but you can apply for spring internships. I'd just look online at hospital's websites and call the HR recruiters. Some hospitals in Dallas are... Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, Baylor University Medical Center, UT Southwestern, Parkland, Children's, and Medical City Dallas. Good luck!
  4. It's comforting to know I'm not the only one who feels like this. I dread work and think about quitting all the time, but I know things will get better if I just keep at it. So that's what I've been doing. I have 8 more months until it'll be a year... I hope I can make it! I can't wait until I can go to day shift though, I think that'll make a huge difference!
  5. I'd interview and see how it feels talking with them... and if it feels right, do the day shift! Nights suck! (in my opinion)

I also use them for IV lines that are too tight. I also use them to metal part off of NS bottles for patients that forgot their contact cases before surgery...
