Hi, I currently attend UC for midwifery. I am part-time, so I am in my 5th semester of 8. It's a good program, and I have learned a lot, but it can be kind of fast-paced, and if you don't have a strong clinical background, you may need to really focus on your assessments. One piece of advice I do want to give you...find your preceptors early. I have had little to no help in that area, and unfortunately, the state I live in has a lot of hospital systems that own doctor groups, which can make the logistics difficult when it comes to a contract. The system may have an exclusivity contract. Also, preceptors fill fast, especially within the specialty. You will be contacting, emailing, and calling people all the time, and for me, 95% of the time, I haven't even gotten any response; it's infuriating.
