  16. I just got this email, did anyone else? Thank you for your interest in the UC San Diego Health Scvc 3B PCU-Nurse Residency Program. We are thrilled to receive your application and excited to evaluate your candidacy in today's highly competitive nursing landscape. Our goal is to select the most promising newly licensed Registered Nurses (NLRNs) who will thrive within our culture and practice settings. This includes embracing our expectations, experiences, philosophy, and values as you begin your professional journey. If selected for our intensive Nurse Residency Program, you will embark on a rigorous three-month, competency-based education and orientation. This includes participation in core fundamental classes and immersion in Interprofessional Teaming—a cornerstone of our approach to collaborative care. Interprofessional Teaming recognizes the value of purposeful interactions among healthcare professionals, allowing team members to leverage their unique strengths to deliver safe, efficient, and coordinated care. At UCSDH, this means NLRNs will spend time observing and learning from other disciplines—for example, shadowing a Respiratory Therapist for four hours to gain insight into their role in patient care. In addition to the Core NRP curriculum, you are required to attend specialty classes tailored to your clinical area. These include: • Cardiac Boot Camp • PCU Series Successful completion of all required classes—both core and specialty—is mandatory by the end of the three-month program. This ensures that each new graduate is fully prepared to transition into independent practice with confidence and competence. Your application has been submitted to our Hiring Committee Review Board. We anticipate a review period of approximately two weeks, after which we will notify applicants of their status and extend interview invitations to selected candidates. For those selected, the Nurse Residency Program is scheduled to begin on March 6, 2026. We appreciate your dedication to the nursing profession and look forward to potentially welcoming you into our Nurse Residency Program. Warm regards, UC San Diego Health Scvc 3B PCU Hiring Committee
