  1. Hello, my name is Sandra Ortiz and I am currently enrolled in Regis College's DNP PMHNP program. I have attached an anonymous link to this project (https://regiscollege.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9mMhrkZz1vsUENE). This evidence-based project focuses on assessing the impact of a virtual educational intervention on nurses' knowledge and attitudes toward music therapy. For those of you who decide to participate, you will have up to two weeks to review the informed consent form and complete a series of project tasks. The time period is short because I am nearing the end of the recruitment period. These tasks include the following: a demographic survey, a pre-intervention survey, an educational module, and a post-intervention survey. All activities will take place on the Qualtrics platform, which will be used for data collection and analysis. Please see the attached flyer for more information and feel free to ask questions through the forum. Thank you in advance for your time and support.

  4. Thank you for sharing. I really appreciate you taking the time to share these helpful resources and suggestions. I'm going to look into membership prices for APNA and explore the opportunities you mentioned. Thank you again.
  5. Thank you for sharing! I'll definitely look into that. I've picked up shifts at different hospitals in the past and noticed that each one is unique. I completely agree that being adaptable and open to listening to the nurses who work at each hospital can really help facilitate success in travel nursing. Thanks again
  6. I appreciate you taking the time to share the qualities you've found most beneficial through your experience, I'll definitely take that into consideration. Thank you for sharing.
  7. Thank you, I appreciate your insights. I am definitely going to look into PanTravelers. Thank you again.
  8. My posts aren't assignment questions—they're just things I've been curious about as I approach graduation next year. I haven't given much thought to my future beyond graduation, as my focus has primarily been on completing school. I'm still undecided about whether I'd like to work in an inpatient or outpatient setting. However, based on my experience working as a nurse in a military environment, I know that I do not want to mirror leadership styles I observed while shadowing PMHNPs on military posts. Thank you.

  24. Hi When I was in nursing school, a common question was, "Why did you become a nurse?” At least 75% of my cohort said it was for the money, and I was in the minority, saying it was because of the opportunity to build interpersonal relationships and make a lasting impact. The most difficult experiences in nursing come with patient losses, while the most rewarding moments are seeing a patient happy or making a meaningful difference in their care. In my current nursing practice, I have had a wide range of experiences in a short time due to my military background, but I have eventually found my niche in psychiatric nursing. I am now in the process of becoming a nurse practitioner (PMHNP). There are significant differences between being an undergraduate nurse and a graduate-level nurse, especially regarding leadership expectations. As a PMHNP, you act as a primary health care provider—nurses report to you, and you are responsible for creating care plans rather than following orders and executing them as bedside nurses. I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out.
  25. I don't think you will find a graduate program that doesn't require clinical hours, as they are an essential part of the degree process. It doesn't seem like your workplace is able to provide a preceptor, and most schools require students to secure their own. I would recommend using an online service that can connect you with either an in-person preceptor in your area or a virtual one, depending on the school's requirements. I hope this helps!
