I am currently in the ASN nursing program at Ivy Tech, this is my first semester in the program. I took my pre-requisite courses there too, so I was as hopeful as anyone can be. But, it isn't very good. From the first day during the 2nd orientation, they blatantly told us that out of all of us being here, only 30 or less will make it through graduation. I don't mind the program being challenging, all good things in life are, and being a nurse is very important, but they make it downright impossible. The content of the exams is nothing they teach in class, the study guide materials are useless. The ATI exams are NOT what they prepare you for in class. I study day and night for a final I just took, and then the day of the exam, they told us that the questions were generated from NCLEX books, which they never told us to consider as a study source. nothing from what they gave us in the study guide came out. I am so pissed, that I intend to look for another school and drop out of the program. I used to be a lawyer in my home country, and I hold a Master's degree in child psychology, so I am used to hardcore studies, but what they're doing is nowhere near "Fair"; it's like they purposely make it hard so they'll have the lowest graduation rate possible. I can't figure out how that would benefit them, but Ivy Tech nursing is absolute BS, and a total waste of time.
