Ohio University (OHIO) - CRNA 2025 Start
I had 5 years ICU float, SICU, RRT experience, 3.7 undergraduate GPA, 3.8 science GPA, CCRN, undergraduate organizations/involvement, work committee involvement. GRE wasn't required, but I took it for other applications and had a 304. My class has a pretty diverse background and everyone has 2 or more years of ICU experience with varying age ranges 25-40. I believe they had around 150 applications but I'm not sure. They interview about 50-60 applicants (I might have that wrong because I get interviews mixed up), and 25 were accepted. I highly recommend attending their online info sessions. They give a lot of background about the program and let applicants ask questions. It's also a good way to start making your face known to them before applying.

I started the program this semester and I'm very happy with the anesthesia side of our curriculum. However, the OU DNP classes often come across a bit unorganized. I think that's due to the program recently switching from Otterbein to OU two years ago and they're still working out some kinks. I've spoken with friends in other programs in other parts of the country and they seem to have the similar issues with the DNP portion so it doesn't seem unique to this program. Overall, I'm very happy with the decision to attend OU - the anesthesia faculty have up to 15-20 years of experience and really put together a wonderful program for their students.
