For me, questions were very general like "Tell me about yourself" "Why L&D" "A time you made a mistake" etc. No clinical questions! Really be enthusiastic and show how grateful you are for the opportunity but most importantly be yourself!! Asking good questions at the end is also super important! As for certs, I also had my NRP and Fetal Heart Monitoring and they loved that! I had clinical with different Kaiser's and I was also a recipient of a Kaiser Scholarship back when I first started nursing school so I like to think that helped me stand out. They also really liked my portfolios! This was my 2nd interview with Kaiser, my first was with a Med/Surg unit also at Anaheim & I bombed it but I learned a lot and it made me realize how important it is to prepare.

Thanks everyone for all your kind words, truly means the WORLD to me!<333 And I mean this with all my heart, don't give up or lose hope! It's definitely easier said than done but keep applying and praying!! There was one night that I genuinely wanted to give up, I was mentally drained from applying and getting denied over and over again but I prayed so hard and the next day I got a call for an interview at Kaiser and I knew that was my sign and I went in with all my heart, prepped like crazy (felt like I was in nursing school again) and now I'm here and I couldn't be more grateful. If anyone needs help with anything I'm just a message away! Also, I interviewed the 30th of May and got the call this morning (June 4th) around 1020ish.

Hi y'all, I also got an email earlier to schedule an interview with NICCU! Super nervous but also excited! I haven't had much luck getting interviews since graduating last May...I just really hope and pray to get in this residency program! If anyone has any advice for the in-person interview, what to expect, questions they might ask, or how to prepare, it would mean the absolute WORLD to me! Thanks so much and good luck everyone!!<3333

Harbor UCLA 2025 New Graduate Program
Hi!! No, it doesn't specifically say "New Grad" or anything like that. It's just titled as something like "Registered Nurse 1" on the LA County jobs website. Once you apply, it prompts you to take an exam but its just about your working style and personality. Once that's done you should get an email with your results and with those results you can forward them to wherever you wanna apply and in the email you just let them know what your unit preferences are. Also make sure to include your resume and BLS. For me, I also included a cover letter and my license/verification form, just because. Good luck!!

Harbor UCLA 2025 New Graduate Program
It was super confusing but for me, in my initial email I included the units I was interested in (women's health, L&D, NICU, etc.) and they responded the next day with an application to fill out but the units they were offering were none of the ones I was really interested in so I didn't even send the application back but then like 4 days later they just randomly scheduled me for an interview with L&D LOL. I think you should send a follow up email! My interview is coming up, pretty nervous but hoping for the best.

Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) RN Residency Fall 2025
Mine says "under review" and it was last updated 05/19. I applied for NICCU and PICU and my 1st round interview was on 05/12. I have not received an email for a 2nd round interview though...fingers crossed!!

Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) RN Residency Fall 2025
Yes there was time to ask question! They first introduced themselves, what they do, how long they've been with CHLA, and how they are part of the team that read the applications but they don't know/don't remember if they were one of the individuals who read yours specifically. They then let you know it's a 3 question interview and it should take about 15 minutes. After that they then start to ask the questions and you just answer and once that is all done, they let you know that's the end and they give you a brief overview of the next steps/the timeline and then after that they ask if you have any questions for them! Hope that helps! That's kind of how I remember it going.
