I heard back from pediatric OR today (it was my 3rd or 4th choice)

You sound like a strong candidate to me. I think that it's just extremely competitive in California and especially the Bay Area.

I actually just realized that the rejection is from the transplant unit (which was my #1 choice), but I'm assuming I'm rejected overall LOL "Thank you for your interest in our Medical/Surgical - Adult Transplant team. After careful review of all applicants, the team has decided not to move forward with your candidacy for one of their openings.
