  1. I know someone who interviewed at Georgetown in late October of 2007 and was told he wouldn't hear until late December. Sure enough, he got a letter the week before Christmas saying he was wait listed. (My friend was admitted to Georgetown in April 2008.)
  2. If you were 52, highly qualified for nurse anesthesia school, and told you were too old to become a CRNA would you not be offended?
  3. Yes, jfk6668, if the 54 year old is more qualified than the younger candidate, it's that bad ... and it's also age discrimination. I'm 52 and I have a year to go in my Nurse Anesthesia program. I'm hoping to work until I'm 70. Are you suggesting perhaps I should have been denied this opportunity?
  4. I'm 51 and a SRNA. I'll be 53 when I start looking for a job. For those CRNAs that were in a similar position, did you find your age to be a barrier when you started looking for a job? I found that my age was a non-factor getting into school. But now I'm concerned that it could be an issue getting a job. Any feedback would be appreciated, including comments from recruiters and employers. Thanks -- Sedna
  5. I'm 51 and just finished my first semester and I love it. I don' think my age was a disadvantage in any respect. I wouldn't want to look back and have regrets for not doing what I really wanted to do.
  6. I'm 51 and started CRNA school in August.
  7. I just turned 50 and am applying for 2007. At least one school told me they don't consider age when evaluating candidates. I've got to be the tail of the bell curve, so I guess I'll find out if that's generally true. Working full time it's been a long road to get to this point, but I'm excited and ready.
