Hi it's true it is very competitive, the anesthesia program will only take about 5 ETP students every year, but you should still apply. I have also heard of students who entered the ETP program with another major (most of them critical care) and then decided to change to anesthesia, some of them were successful in getting a spot in the anesthesia program, of course that meant they had to work a year in ICU like all ETP Anesthesia students and while they were in the ICU they applied for one of the remaining 25 spots in the anesthesia program. I believe that as long as you are a great ETP student and get a nice ICU experience you have a good chance of getting in, and if not you can spend another year in the ICU get more experience and reapply.
