Failed Orientation
I have been terminated from jobs for unfair reasons. I think cause I am brutally honest and strong personality which leads for following policy and procedures to a t and that rubs some people wrong so depending on the job I will put not enough hrs or it wasnt a fit and leave it at that . Jobs in my experience the hr part is not going to call all these hospitals I have worked at too much time..some places want ref but just on file they don't even call them so I wouldnt get too shook up about it ...the key is during the interview to show your knowledge and share stories that show u knowledge much more imp now a days in my opinion....I have never done an interview where I havent gotten the job ...

best to just have good references that you trust and be done with it...

Failed Orientation
in the state of ohio only information that can legally be shared is yes the nurse worked there and no or yes will rehire these are facts shared with me from several hr so maybe not a legal mandate like I thought and was told by hr people but unfair practice to share all without the person being fired in on the conversation

Failed Orientation
for example I was applying for perm job in ca for a hospital I had travelled nurse in. I actually forgot to add a hospital that I had worked in for few weeks which was a sister hospital to the perm job... hr told me it was fraud and explained I just forgot to add it to my resume and I was still terminated. I was in my first week of orientation had put monies down on apt etc lost a lot of monies. The manager of that er and me both cried. and I regretfully went home jobless.

I gave feedback in a staff meeting, will there be repercussions?
first managers have a boat load of things to do on their agenda...and it helps voicing your opinion but never really got a solution...so in the er we would cover each other for breaks..as a nurse we are responsible for those aides stna etc..so I know it is a pain but when I wanted a lazy person to do something I would grab them by the hand take them in the room they did ekg and I did my RN stuff...I found pairing in with the aides was one solution to getting stuff done. some charge nurses strong leaders others not I would drag the charge nurse in on my patient care if needed and I would take it upon my self to call house supervisor just saying I have to many patients I am sinking not able to do efficient patient care and that supervisor would help....maybe not right but family are willing to help with their loved ones like sitting at bedside on a patient confused climbing out of be or helping with turning or bedbath etc.

Are RNs in Ohio allowed to adjust Coumadin based on POCT results?
Yes if there is a standard order /protocal for adjusting the dose but.....I always call the doctor tell him the lab results and what dose I am adjusting to.. never hurts to cross your t and dot your eyes so all on same page esp with drugs like blood thinners.

ED RN refused per diem, is this legal?
in the olden days we could drop from ft to perdiem but now a days they want the perdiem position to be available and applied for . they say more efficient way to run the schedule with right amt nurses in diff job catagories. and hr has the power to create what job positions work for that dept

OF course they will find out you are a new grad when they look up your license says when you got it. Maybe they just feel like you are not er material just like I wouldnt be a good surgery nurse..Cruel to say but don't apply to that er job again I know you are hurt but move on to a job that appreciate you..do a year med surg and become a travel er nurse to get time under your belt In some states it is called fraud to leave off jobs on your resume....put the jobs on.

Failed Orientation
Hello sorry this happened to you. I personally think a year of med surg is needed for a new grad prior to er position...it needs to be a seasoned nurse which only comes with experience. ER nurse for 27 yrs here..Maybe you didn't get the job cause you have only been out of school for 5 months. Sometimes telling the truth about past jobs that were terminated just burns the nurse. I would say I worked at this ER on the resume and wasnt a fit...Legally they are not to say why they terminated you just to say yes you worked there...don't hate nursing hang in there I personally have gone thru some of this stuff also.
