  1. I don't have the specific number for HR, but you could call TMMC's number and ask if you could be connected to HR. I hope you're still in the running/alternate! Are you waiting on med surg? I really hope they give you an answer so you're not in the dark. I understand how this could be really frustrating for other applicants as well.
  2. A friend of mine got an offer from ED last week. Based on my experience, if they're REALLY interested...they would call within a week. If not, the job was offered to someone else or you're an alternate. You could try calling the HR dept and see if you're still in the running. Were you accepted somewhere else?
  3. Congratulations! What unit and are you going to accept the offer?
  4. Around 2-3 months! I'll just keep applying for day shifts positions for now. I'm not in a hurry to get a job right away. Might change my mind later on, but I wouldn't want to take a job I know I'm not going to be happy with. It'll burn me out faster.
  5. Damn, that rent is expensive. It's (the offer) not worth it for me, especially when I have to work nights. I did nights for preceptorship before and it was not kind to my body, especially my mental health. I'm currently applying for day shifts positions right now. I know it is competitive to land a new grad position for days, but I'll get lucky eventually!
  6. I heard it's pretty competitive there, but the pay is good 70+ above for new grads at NorCal. I'm a new grad and I was accepted to a telemetry unit for nights, I declined because the offer was a little low ($49) not including differentials. I was told by my family that I should just wait and look for better offers + preferred shifts. She's in Southern California. San Diego to be exact.
  7. Uh... ? My friend at Kaiser (new grad) was started 55 per hour and she got her preferred shift (days). But I guess she's somehow working for it since she mentioned how they usually have 1 CNA per floor. 2 if they're lucky.
  8. Oh okay. I asked a friend of mine and he said a total of maybe 30-40 new grads were accepted (one of the previous cohorts). Not sure for this one, it will be more likely the same.
  9. Oh nice, maybe they will accept a lot since it's the first float pool cohort? Did they mention how many they will accept for days and nights?
  10. Oh nice! How was the interview with float pool?
  11. Hi everyone, just wanted to give an update. I have a friend who got an offer for Med-Surg (nights) but she was interviewed online (not through the hiring event).
  12. Did anyone go to the 2nd hiring event? Has anyone received a call back from any hiring event?
  13. This is the last week, so let's see! Please let us know if any of you guys got an offer for 1st surgical! Or any other offers from LCOM torrance
  14. A friend of mine is waiting for 1st surgical and he hasn't received any rejection emails. He actually sent an email last week and got a reply that they're still waiting for the panel team to decide. Not sure about that. I honestly think they already sent out offers and just waiting for others to accept/decline. Also, to wait for others to pass/fail the NCLEX.
  15. Yeah, I'll try and do that! Have you heard back from them yet? It will be 2 weeks tomorrow so I'm not so sure anymore ? I already have an offer elsewhere, but would prefer to work at this hospital
  16. Um, if I do decide to go to the hiring event tmrw and I already interviewed with med surg. What other options do I have? I'm thinking of float pool but isn't that already part of med surg? Also, has anyone received any offers yet from med surg units?
  17. Has anyone received an offer from LCOM Torrance 1st surgical?
  18. I understand, I personally would not work on a unit that I don't want (in addition to nights). You'll find the right job for you. Don't settle! But then again, it is also nice to keep an open mind. You don't have to start in the ED or whatever preferred specialty right away. Hope you get offers soon!
  19. I was told that it was a rejection email. I would have inquired further, but since it seemed like she didn't want to talk about it...I didn't
  20. No, I didn't. When I went to the hiring event, we were only allowed to interview with one unit and I picked med surg.
  21. Mine changed from new to closed for PCU. From new to in process for Med-Surg, but this was even before the hiring event I went to. Have you received an offer/call back? Ik they only do 1 interview for med surg and PCUs and other departments conduct 2 interviews. I'm not really sure whether I'm still in the running or just rejected LOL.
  22. Congratulations! Are you going to accept? What was the rate you were given?
