Unfortunately, I didn't get accepted. I kind of knew that would happen though because 2 of my prereqs were C+'s. However, I still wanted to give it a try, due to my overall GPA and the fact that I'm an honor student. I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to do next though. I may retake the 2 courses, and try reapplying, or try applying to another program, I'm just not sure where. Congrats to everyone who's been accepted & good luck to everyone waiting to receive their decision!

Stay positive! If you don't mind me asking, how did you find out? Did they send you an email, or the application through the mail?

I didn't hear from anyone yet. The school actually had an information session today on Zoom for the program. It was for all the students who applied or were thinking about applying. They said that decisions will be given out about a week after the application deadline (which is in September). So, I'm hoping for the best, but in the meantime, I'm just trying not to overthink it LOL. After today, it seems as though they are more focused on the prereqs than a student's overall GPA. That can be a little frustrating because a student can have better grades in other science courses like genetics or physics and they may not consider those courses at all. Either way though, I'm trying not to stress about it, but I'll let you know if I do get accepted or not!

Trust me, I definitely understand! I wasn't the best student either. Two of my prerequisites are C+’s, so I'm really nervous, but I was an honors student. Hopefully they'll give me the chance, but what's for me is for me ??

I would say give it a try. What did you receive in A&P ll? I'm only asking because it doesn't even say anything about A&P l on their website. So, I think they care more about A&P ll. I believe it depends on the actual class, because I've seen students get accepted with a C+, but I got a call the other day saying that I had to retake Chem and Micro because I received C+'s in both courses, although I took Genetics and received a really good grade (they told me they were no longer accepting it for Fall), my GPA was still over a 3.0 (even my prereq grade alone), and I am an honors student, on top of being an alumni. So, I really think it just depends on the actual course you received the C+ in. You never know though; it doesn't hurt to try. One advise I can definitely give, is never apply to just one school alone, because some schools look at the effort you've truly put in. One school might care more about your overall work (meaning other science courses you might have taken), than just looking at prerequisites.

Hi I have another quick question. It states on their website that they'll accept chemistry or genetics, but only chemistry in the fall, which is sort of weird. I took genetics and received a B- in it, and a C+ in chem. Although they're saying they won't accept genetics in the fall, do you think showing my grade for it will help my chances?

I took a few other biology courses that I received B's in, but I'm not sure if they look at any of your other courses. I also went from a failing student in high school to an honors student in college, and I'm an alumni of Mercy. I'm just curious if they still would give me a chance. I also posted on another forum as well, just to see if anyone can help me out LOL
