So I graduate mid December 2023. I want to do a residency but most in my state have cohorts starting in feb, may, august, and November. I'm wondering if it would be better to apply for a Feb or may cohort? Start of feb seems super soon after school and doesn't give me much time to study and take the NCLEX especially with the holiday season and waiting for results. But may seems like a super long time after graduation before I start working? Can I even apply for a may start date before I graduate? Not applying for residency before I graduate kinda stresses me out. Please let me know what you think would work best and how to go about it!

Oh gotcha. That definitely gave me a bit of hope even though it was your last choice so thank you, glad you got to do an ICU externship somewhere else!

Thank you!! I was told I was an alternate on the 9th and still haven't heard anything else, so I'm thinking I maybe didn't get in:( do you know how many people are on the alternate list? I've seen from other posts that people thought maybe 5 but then others have said there's been 30+ so just wondering if anyone actually found out! They said they'd let us know either way by April so I guess there is still hope, but I'm assuming there was a cut off date for accepting offers (probably this week) and I doubt anyone will drop out after accepting

@jackiethey! Did you ever find out how many alternates got to participate? I'm an alternate for this Summer but I'm dying to know how likely it is that I'll get in!

Not sure if any of you still check this thread, but I was selected as alternate for this coming Summer. Did anyone ever discover how many people got emails saying they were an alternate or how many alternates actually got to participate? Did they tell alternates in April even if they didn't have a spot open up? Thanks!

Hello! Did anyone else apply for the paid internship in Rochester this Summer? Or anyone accepted to previous summers? I received an email this morning saying I was selected as an alternate. Does anyone know how many alternates are selected and what the chances of being chosen are?? They said they would let us know by April but I'm super anxious, seems so far away!
