  1. Hi all! I will be graduating from my NP Program this December (2026) as a pediatric primary care nurse practitioner. I live in California and will be getting licensed in California and was wondering if anyone has gone through the examination/licensing process in California and about how long that process took from when you graduated. I work at a children's hospital currently as an RN and have a clinic within the system that is potentially interested in hiring me, but I want to provide them an accurate timeline of when I would actually be able to start working.
  2. I ended up getting accepted into Dukes MSN FNP program and that's what I'm doing. I will continue on to their DNP program following graduation is the plan.
  3. So I know someone else posted that they hadn't received an email to set up their net ID too, and I ended up calling Duke IT today and they told me they didn't have my email address on file (IDK how that's possible with all the email stuff we've done so far) but then he was able to get everything set up for me! So if you're having that problem just call Duke IT. also I never received an email from Keysha about the matriculation plans or anything yet? I'm very confused at what's happening?
  4. Hi everyone! We should create a facebook group! Also has anyone heard word from Duke since paying deposit and replying to offer of admission? I got a "congrats on committing to Duke" email the other day, but haven't heard anything about next steps.
  5. Hi guys! Just accepted my offer of admission yesterday, and I'm wondering if anyone else knows where we are supposed to send our official transcripts? I've been super busy and don't know if I just overlooked where they said to send them. Thanks:)
  6. Congrats everyone that got in:) when do you think they will tell us about scholarships/financial aid? im thinking after we accept offers?
  7. I got in!! I'm so excited!!
  8. Where were they posted? I don't see anything
  9. Just wanted to let everyone know that I called today and the admissions officer told me decisions would be released on Friday.
  10. Has anyone else reached out to admissions to see what they say about decisions timeline?
  11. I asked a week ago and they told me by mid April!!
  12. Hi! I've been meaning to respond to this, but I emailed admissions and they said MSN decisions will be released by mid-April! Soon!
  13. Did they ask you to submit other things besides what was on the application??
  14. Guys I wish we found out sooner, I'm so anxious?
  15. Did you interview for DNP or MSN?? I'm so happy to hear this went well:)
  16. Also I should add, I only said that DNPs can most of the time practice as NPs because some DNP programs are for public health or education, etc and those programs don't train you to be an NP, but if you want to practice as an NP there are an abundance of DNP programs out there that will allow you to do that!
  17. Hi! I'm applying to DNP programs and think I can offer some insight. DNPs are doctorally trained advance practice nurses and are most of the time able to work as an NP. There is actually a push currently for all future ARNPs to seek out a DNP education as opposed to an MSN. I have been accepted to both MSN and DNP programs and the biggest difference between the two, in my opinion, is just that the DNP additionally focuses on research and evidence based practice a little bit more. In both programs you will choose a specialty (FNP, AGNP, WHNP, ect) and will be qualified to take the certifying exam upon graduation. Some schools allow BSN trained nurses to go directly into a DNP program, while other programs require nurses to first successfully complete the masters program before seamlessly transitioning into their DNP program. I hope this helps:) both degrees are amazing and will train you to practice as a proficient mid level provider. It really is up to you in what you think is best for your own practice!!
  18. So it sounds like a month until DNP programs hear and about 6 weeks until MSN programs hear? That's what I'm gathering from these posts
  19. I'm sure you did awesome:) I did apply to university of illinois, Vanderbilt, and rush additionally! So far I've gotten into Vanderbilt and university of illinois, but Duke is my number one! Did you apply anywhere else?
  20. Thank you:) I actually think it well super well! I'm so excited! I hope we find out on the 6week mark!
  21. Dang, May is so far from now! I thought on the email I received a few weeks ago it said April?? I have my interview tomorrow and I'm a little nervous, I hope we all get in:)
  22. I also felt like the interface to sign up for an interview was weird, I couldn't tell if it was legit or not. Also IDK if anyone else is confused, but are they going to send us a zoom like for the interview or is the zoom like somewhere already? The wording in the invite to interview email was confusing to me. my interview is March 8th! We should keep each other updated on the interview process
  23. Hi guys!! I applied to the FNP MSN and just got an email today to sign up for an interview! I'm so excited!
