I wasn't able to work at all and I don't recommend doing so, I babysit so occasionally would pick up a weekend shift but only if I didn't have a test the upcoming week. Their program is pricy but all ABSN's are, and one of our professors was a nurse director at montefiore and said she hires new grads out of CMSV so I'm sure you'll be able to make good connections. My cohort was small, about 25-30 students. I'm transferring to Columbia's MDE program, originally was going to stay at the mount since Columbia's program as over 100k but they gave me a 50k scholarship so it ended up being worth it to transfer, especially since I'd be getting a masters instead of a bachelors. The mount is really what you make it, if you stay on top of your work and are good about self teaching then you'll do great. Wish you luck in your journey!

Totally, I remember finding it really difficult to find any info on programs when I was applying so I'm happy to help others going through the process. My class schedule was decent (I'll attach it), clinical says it's 8 hours but in reality we stayed max 4 hours, and the lab on Tuesdays was also easy, the professor was great. The class that was hardest was Patho, we often didn't have enough time in class to cover all the material and had to do a lot on our own but the professor for that class was really great. Definitely expect to spend a lot of time studying and doing work, but know that towards the end of the semester it slows down a lot. The first half of the semester you'll have a test about once a week so time management is key. for fundamentals and health assessment I studied mostly on Sunday Monday and Tuesdays, Patho I always studied Thursdays and saturdays. Health promotion is a joke LOL it's very easy. Let me know if you have any other questions I'm happy to answer them!

Never heard of it, I used the complete nursing school bundle before the program and it helped with getting me familiar with basic knowledge. If you drop your email I can send it to you. Other than that just get familiar with basic terminology because once you start professors don't bother teaching it so it can be overwhelming if you have to learn it on top of learning everything in class

Depends on the professor but you have to purchase a program called coursepoint for each class and I religiously did the quizzes on there before every test. All my professors used variations of the questions on coursepoint, plus the program explains any questions you get wrong on the quizzes so you actually learn. Besides that find 2-3 people in the class you trust and divide up readings/share resources with them. I was lucky because the girls in my lab were all really good students, so we helped eachother throughout the semester.

It is what you make it. I went into the program knowing that it wasn't going to be great and viewing it as a way to get my degree. I had two professors who were great and then 1 who quit halfway through the semester and another who never taught anything. I got all A's because I know how to teach myself and how to study, but if you need more handholding or support I'd say it's not the right program. Also separately the schools financial aid sucks, I had to threaten legal action to get my refund for a personal loan I took out and even then they didn't send me anything until literally two weeks ago. So if you're planning on taking out a personal loan with extra money, I'd be on their case from the beginning.

Hi all! I'm transferring from this program (just finished up my first semester there) as I was offered a large scholarship to attend a different accelerated nursing program. Unfortunately none of my credits will transfer ? but that's OK I'm happy with my decision! I'm looking to sell my uniform (worn max 3 times since it was back ordered until April, I wore temporary scrubs until I got it). If anyone's interested let me know, I'll drop my depop and ship them to you. The top and bottom are both small, I think they retail for $60 full uniform. Happy to sell them for $20 or open to offers

Hi all! I just got accepted to Columbia university's MDE program starting Summer of 2023. I'm currently in an ABSN program at mount Saint Vincent and it's going OK, but I'm considering transferring. The four classes I'm taking now wouldn't transfer over as I'm taking them at a bachelor level and columbias program is a masters. Is there anyone who is in the same boat or anyone who completed columbias MDE program that can give me advice or tell me if they think it's worth it to transfer? I'm mostly concerned about cost and also want to know if going through their program guarantees a job at a Columbia affiliated hospital or if I'll be graduating scrambling for a job just like every other new graduate.
