  1. Amazing, congrats! I applied for this summers cohort and would love to know your experience. Im from out of state but have traveled to OH a few times so I'm somewhat familiar. I'm curious if you received an email prior to knowing your admission status talking about licensing? I got one on Monday that starts with "This notice is to inform you about federal requirements associated with the academic program you have been accepted into…” I'm not sure if this is a preliminary email but don't want to get my hopes up just yet!
  2. Hello! I was curious if you ended up applying to Kent state?
  3. During my interview they said classes are at the doheny campus in downtown. I would ask admissions about housing arrangements if needed. As far as affordability you'll definitely have to research places due to being in LA county housing is a bit pricey as is but you may be able get lucky. The MSMU website has a lot of information regarding housing, campuses, etc. I have declined my offer to attend out of state but good luck to everyone starting in May!
  4. I don't believe they released a schedule yet, I could be mistaken but I personally haven't seen anything. Only thing I saw was there are a few orientations I believe this month and in April but I didn't look too much in to it. personally I was looking at discover loans bc they have great reviews with reasonable interest rates and look good for those who have established credit already. I haven't looked into sofi though.
  5. The deadline is next Monday! It is 2 weeks from when they notified everyone.
  6. I think that's for if you have classes in progress ?
  7. was just going to post this LOL!
  8. I'm going to attend the campus program! This was really helpful and reassuring. Thanks for the info! Nervous but excited about the program and I have not seen really any super negative reviews for it. Would you say there's anything you recommend reviewing/studying before starting?
  9. They mentioned in my interview that decisions would be out within the first 2 weeks of February!
  10. I was also accepted into the Summer 23 program. Currently going through posts to get personal insight from others. Waiting to hear about orientation!
  11. My advice is to not be discouraged by your stats or compare to anyone else's. Apply to where you meet requirements and go from there. It may sound easier said than done but at the end of the day, when you get in somewhere, no one cares what your stats were and no one knows unless you tell them. I have seen many people with outstanding stats say they couldn't make it through and others with lower stats say they did just fine. If you made it into a program then it was for a reason! Worst that can happen is they say no, which may sound awful and I don't mean it to sound insensitive all. I have applied to a few schools, some of which I was sure I'd get in to and didn't and others that I was surprised to make it into. As long as your stats meet the minimum requirements then go for it ?
  12. I don't know that there is a math exam? Unless I overlooked it but I just checked the website and it says no entrance exam required.
  13. I haven’t done mine yet!
  14. I did! I'm not sure either but from what I've seen in previous forums they all say they are not too scary. Mainly about your background and what brought you to nursing.
  15. Hmm, okay so the ATT would apply for CA only since it's not in the compact. If it was then it would apply to other states as well. Good to know!
  16. Awesome! I actually completed all of these in my undergrad and at a community college in CA so I am not worried about these. I was worried about the actual nursing courses because everywhere seems so different! I have definitely heard and seen the stress CA brings in all this. Thank you for th info, I really appreciate it!
  17. I also applied! Mine is under review but I can't find anything with info on when to expect a decision. I assume by Feb the latest
  18. Got it! That's helpful. I was worried because some programs have classes like pathophysiology or pharmacology while others don't, or the classes are different. For example: Instead of med/surg 1, Psych nursing, etc. The classes are listed like Nursing 1, 2, 3, and 4. I suppose the name of the courses don't matter as long as the content is covered.
  19. Hello! I am a CA resident in the midst of a career change. I've been accepted into a ABSN program out of state that is "cheaper" (I use this word lightly) than many others. I also chose out of state due to being to impacted in CA. I am also looking into ADN programs out of state for cost, but now that I think about it I do not understand the nursing requirements. How is it possible to sit for the NCLEX with both if they have different curriculums? I have all my pre-reqs and social sciences done in CA so I am not worried about those. However, I am not really sure what to look out for in an out of state ADN program to be able to sit for the exam in CA. When I was looking for ABSN program I found something that said there are 58 credits in nursing needed and I assumed that was for a BSN, but what about an ADN? I worry about completing a program out of state and then running into trouble when it's time for the exam. Any info is appreciated, thanks!
  20. I think it was slightly over a week but yeah it was short. I checked the application page and there was something that said your decision is ready and then they sent a formal letter by mail as well!
  21. Thank you! Keep in mind when you get accepted it’s a $200 deposit that you have about a week to make to hold your spot ?
  22. I got mine about 3 weeks after I applied for Summer 2023
  23. Hello everyone! I was just accepted into the Summer 2023 cohort. I was wondering if anyone is from California? I wanted to check in if you all received confirmation that this program will allow you to sit for the NCLEX in CA? I’m almost positive but paranoid from the horror stories I’ve heard about people completing a program and then finding out at the end that they don’t qualify
