Nova Southeastern University ABSN program 2023
Hello, I completely understand! I am not in the ABSN program, I am in the traditional but we both share the same orientation. It was said during orientation that the ABSN program is 4 semesters so you will have about 3-4 classes each semester starting with Foundation courses and clinicals such as Med Surg. The following semester will be the same with health assessment courses and clincicals in OB and Maternity. That is from my understanding and it continues that way with other specialties until your graduation. I could be wrong! I've also heard in school the schedule is about 3 days in the week of lecture and on Fridays or Saturday's there is Clinicals. They should tell you soon or during orientation, I'm sorry if this info is slightly inaccurate but hope it helps!

Nova Southeastern University ABSN program 2023
Of course! I'm glad I can help ? That's great you'll be starting later this year! The course load isn't crammed since it's paced differently for the traditional program rather than the ABSN program. We currently have three courses right now and it gives us sufficient time to study and manage our other classes. For our next semester we will have more courses and we will be starting clinicals but the work load is expected in nursing school. NSU really creates a good environment to manage all our courses efficiently which are taught by knowledgeable professors. You should expect a lot of scholarly writing and public speaking. I advise you to refresh on your anatomy and physiology as this is currently our most dense course. You'll really like it here! If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

Hey Ana, for me personally, along with many others in my class, we really enjoy the structure of NSU and our semester so far. For some other students that may not be the case but it truly is an amazing campus with very student oriented professors that want to see you succeed. I want to add that an ASN is only a portion of what you need to maintain a nursing license in the future, you're better off going to NSU to obtain your BSN than getting an associates in nursing at broward. It is 100% worth it coming to this university! Hope this helps (:

Hi Kaitlyn, Congratulations, that’s great news! I just got my acceptance package Friday which is really just a bunch of paperwork to finish, no acceptance letter in the package. However, I received an acceptance email about a week after I got the acceptance call. I believe you get the final steps and package once you pay for your seat in the program.

From what I heard, mostly the science portion including A&P and life sciences. The math and English portion are very easy and you need to get a 67% or more to be considered passing and NSU doesn’t rank you higher based on your score, you just need to pass. The science portion however needs to be over 65%. This is what I’ve heard and what staff told me, I hope that helps!

Yes, the TEAS exam is required as a nursing entrance exam. Many people have said it is not really hard but I HIGHLY suggest studying at least for the anatomy and physiology portion. There are great resources online to help. I guess the time frame is to secure your seat because they are filling up. The Amoeba Sisters are great for A&P refreshers and other sciences!

I’m not sure how the online interviews are held but one thing they did note was that they’re not looking for out of this world writing they just want to see if you were able to write on command for any prompt so I just think gather all your experiences either a time that you had to deal with something difficult or problem-solving experiences those are things that you might want to reference when you do the essay. You got this, don’t over think, you’ll be fine!

Hey Kaitlyn, I had an interview last Friday and I just got the call this morning that I was accepted! The interview itself really isn’t difficult at all, it starts off with the essay prompt which is very easy I am certain they probably change it for every interview session but I would definitely reflect on past experiences you have that you can use as examples for any prompt they might ask. Then you get 20 to 30 minutes to finish your essay, once that’s complete they will start the interview process which is also very short they only ask you about five questions which are randomized between scenario based and personal. After all the interviews have concluded, the tour will begin and then you are free to go home. If you had your interview on Friday, they will likely call you today or the latest by Wednesday. Good luck!!
