  1. Med surg for Mayo/Dignity, PCU from Honor , and ED for Banner. I went with Dignity and now I'm at Mayo.
  2. Banner offered me 31.50, dignity 32.50, honor health was around 34 but they took in account my lpn experience. Mayo starts new grads at 38-39 right now. As someone with almost a year I got 40.50 but I didn't negotiate, was just happy to be offered a position
  3. Oh I forgot to add despite some of the things I've said, I would say from prior research and anecdotal evidence of what I've heard from friends who have worked at hospitals across the Valley, the general consensus is Mayo> Dignity> Honor> Banner = Valleywise > Abrazo = Steward. Dignity is really not a bad place to work and I'm proud to have worked here
  4. I'll try to provide as much info as I can! you can expect 4-5 patients on a med/surg tele floor and 1-2 on ICU. ED is capped at 4 I believe. Techs are limited, we frequently only have 1 tech for the whole floor. our "med-surg/tele" floors are really like stepdowns/PCUs as there are no PCUs/stepdowns in the hospital as far as I know. We do have free charge and free resource nurses available but how helpful they are is really unit dependent.
  5. I think it depends on how many topics you've made until you can PM LOL. What I am comfortable posting openly is that the educators are great, the benefits are awesome, and overall they were more than willing to give you enough time if you needed more orientation or such. However, the culture is very unit dependent. Dignity/St Joes is a wonderful hospital and company, but you will find some floors/shifts are more welcoming/new grad friendly than others. They usually do not let you switch floors until you have been on your unit for a year. The nice thing is that there is no contract/commitment like other hospitals might make you pay money back if you leave before 1/2 years.
  6. I went through St Joes residency last year (don't wanna give away too much info). It was good - 3 weeks classroom, simulations, education modules and 12 weeks with a preceptor. I applied for Mayo's new grad residency along with the rest of you and I didn't even get an interview. I'm guessing because I'm technically not a new grad but I thought I could skirt by as I just finished my RN-BSN and have under a year of hospital experience. If you would like me to elaborate on St Joes, please feel free to PM me. Anyways, to give some hope to those of you who didn't make it into Mayo's residency I reapplied for one of their experienced RN position and I was immediately offered a virtual interview, and a day after was called to schedule an interview with the unit manager. By the end of the week, I was offered the position which I accepted. So even if you didn't get into Mayo's residency, there is still hope for those of you who really want to work for Mayo! ?
  7. They let you park in the garages now LOL! That sounds like hell
  8. St Joe's new grad residency is great too!
  9. Hmm honestly I'm guessing it's probably too late for us! their loss. I'm technically not a new grad moreso as I am new to the hospital, so I'll just try applying again through a normal opening once I have a year in my specialty. And if still nothing.. it just wasn't meant to be I guess
  10. I submitted pretty early and I don't see anything ?
  11. I applied and am wondering if anyone has heard back yet!
  12. So, I've interviewed at all of the major hospital systems besides Abrazo in the area so I figured I'd just make a post here as I was looking for info and I couldn't find any. Banner - Scheduled phone interview with recruiter, they asked me about 3 questions involving scenarios "tell me about a time". Immediately extended an offer letter. I have not heard great things about Banner personally from people that currently and previously worked for them. New grad pay is 31.00/hr 18 percent shift diff. 8-16weeks of orientation according to recruiter. HonorHealth - Phone screening with recruiter, in person interview - mostly asking about your experience. Very friendly. 6-8 weeks of orientation. Highest pay by far - 34.00/hr w/ 18 percent shift diff. The low amount of orientation kind of put me off. Offer extended a couple days following. St Joes - Zoom interview, very friendly and passionate panel interview with 2 staff members. A couple tell me about a time questions - offer was extended during the inteview as well! Pay is 32.50. Orientation is a solid 12 weeks. I have heard great things about Dignity from current employees. Chandler Regional - Panel interview in person. About 5 people interviewing, it was pretty cold and felt like an interrogation instead of a conversation- again lots of "tell me about a time" questions. Got called later with a rejection. I kind of feel like you have to know somebody to get in here. Same pay and orientation as St Joe's I'd assume. I hope this is helpful! If you would like to message me for more info, I can go into more detail.
