NHSC Loan Repayment 2023 Cycle
Hi all! Does anyone know if you are allowed to apply to more than one HRSA loan repayment program? I applied for the Nurse Corps program and am still waiting to hear back. I discovered today that there is a new program called Pediatric Specialty Loan Repayment, which is focused on mental health. I am a peds NP working in a residential eating disorder facility so I might be eligible for this. Our site point-of-contact is going to look into getting us listed as an eligible site. If we are able to, I'm wondering if I can apply for this program while I am waiting to hear back from the other? I know I can't accept both awards but, if chosen for both, would I be able to pick which one I take? Thanks in advance!

HRSA Nurse Corps Loan Repayment 2022
Hi everyone! I did not see a thread for the 2023 HRSA Nurse Corps application/program so I am posting here. Does anyone have experience with applying after consolidating loans? I applied last year and was only awarded a small portion of my loans. When I contacted HRSA, they said "Your consolidated unsubsidized loan was not eligible for loan repayment due to education that was not approved for loan repayment". This is definitely not true, as my student loans were only taken out to support my nursing education (BSN and MSN). My take on that was that I didn't provide enough detailed information about the original loans that were consolidated. I have reached out to my loan servicer asking for a detailed letter, which they agreed to do but are taking a really long time and I don't think I will have it back in time for tomorrow's deadline. I wanted to see if anyone here has any experience with this situation and can offer any advice? Thanks in advance!

Public Service Loan Forgiveness question
Hi everyone, I'm wondering if anyone has some insight into the PSLF program, particularly the Limited Waiver that started during COVID. Some background - I have been a pediatric nurse practitioner since 2008 and still have a large amount of student loans to pay off (~$85k). I have not been paying on my loans during the COVID payment freeze. Unfortunately, I was unaware of the PSLF program when I first started working as an NP and have only worked in for-profit settings. If I had known, I would have worked at our city's children's hospital and would have already qualified for the PSLF program. That being said - I have been reading about the Limited PSLF Waiver and have some questions. I know that they are counting the time during the payment freeze towards your 10 year requirement. I'm wondering if this would apply to me as well, even though I have not been working for a not-for-profit employer for that time period? This is my question - if I decide to leave my current job and get a job at the hospital (not-for-profit), will I start at 0 of 10 years or would I start at 3.5 (time of payment freeze) of 10 years? I have tried to reach out to Mohela to ask this question but they a) don't have a listed email address and b) I've been on hold FOREVER when I tried to call. If anyone has any insight into this, I would GREATLY appreciate it!
