  1. Hello! I'm not sure where you live, but Pima Community College in Tucson AZ has a highly rated LPN to RN bridge program. I just finished my LPN there, and took my NcLexPN yesterday. I am considering it!
  2. Hello there! I'm an older student who will be finishing up an LPN program by the end of April. The accelerated nature is tough, and more so for me than the last time in school. I'm not sure if you are able to cut work hours, but I needed to , and hence taje out a loan, but it will be worth it to pass to NCLEX-PN, and will be able to pay it down once working as a nurse. The other thing that helps is taking many 5 minute breaks and walking around to increase my O2 saturation, which in turn helped me with retention ! Good luck to you! You can do it!
  3. Hello all. I am more than 1/2 way through the practical nursing program @ Pima Community College, and am interested in home health. Do we need to go through an agency to be a home health nurse? Just curious because I'm currently a Licensed Massage Therapist in private practice.
  4. My program is no longer requiring the Covid vax, but some clinical sites still want the initial 2 shots.
  5. Hello! I am 57 yrs old and am more than 1/2 way through the LPN program at the same community college that I received my therapeutic massage degree. I have been a licensed massage therapist for 15 yrs, but felt a calling to get into nursing. The next oldest in my class is 50, so I am the oldest, but you'll get over it quickly because there are quite a few students in their 30's and 40's! You can do it!!
  6. Hello again. Yes, they changed it and have a separate accelerated program for LPN. The Pharm class was the same as the 16 wk RN Pharm, but accelerated. I passed the class, now on to Intro to Practical Nursing w/separate skills lab and clinical. Good luck at Carrington!
  7. Hello! Thank you for your reply! I already passed my AZ state CNA, and am in Intro to Pharmacology for Practical Nursing. It's challenging, as I was told it's the same class that the ADN(RN) program students take, but the LPN is only 8 weeks in duration compared to the 16 weeks that the RN gets. I hope that you are doing well , and maybe come back to the program soon.
  8. Hello! I have been offered a seat in the Pima Community College October 2023 cohort for there LPN program. I need to do the CNA course prior to that. Anyone elese accepted, or starting in the Summer cohort prior to this? Also, any older students like myself need support and encouragement? Let's talk!
  9. Thank you for the information.
  10. Good day Arizona! I am a soon to be a 56 yr old Licensed Massage Therapist. My mother retired two years ago @ 77 yrs of age as an RN. If you are an older person like myself who feels called to the Nursing profession, GO FOR IT! I have been an LMT for 13 years, and believe that with 10,000 baby boomers retiring a day, and home health agencies accepting new grads, that I have a good chance to be hired and successful as an LPN or RN. Take care and enjoy the journey!!!
  11. Good day! I am considering the LPN , or ADN RN program at Pima Community College, and was wondering if some LTC’s take new graduates. I am considering a career change from Massage Therapist (13 yrs) with quite a few geriatric clients. Thank you in advance for your time and information! Jill B., LMT
