Thank you so much for your response! I based my response on my schedule preference more than anything, but also tried to avoid Cornerstone due to another friend's suggestion. Another question for you..are facilities really concerned with tattoos and hair colors, like the handbook makes them out to be? I've currently got pink hair(that goes up in a bun easily) and 2 forearm tattoos. In nursing skills they didn't say anything about the tattoos, and I feel like a lot of nurses have them these days. I'm in the orientation check off phase right now and am currently reading the handbook and just thought I'd ask what you and your cohort's experience was with that ?

Hey ya'll! Incoming level one student here ? I'd love to hear about your experience with clinicals if anyone is willing to share. Were 12 hours shifts a doozy? Any sites you loved or hated? I'm not sure I can handle 12, but I'd love to knock it out in one day. So far I've signed up for the 2 day option. Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Yay!! That is the best news. Congrats yall! I just found out that I'm for sure going to be at CEC. Also got the e-mail with alllll the steps to complete before school starts and woo! It's a lot. Not sure where to start, that-or my statistics class I'm enrolled in this semester LOL. If any of you end up at CEC let me know ?

I'm sending you all good vibes. I know of a few people declining, so there will definitely be spots opening up. I also know what it feels like to have near perfect grades and to have done all you can possibly do to get the highest score and not get in. I almost gave up, and the semester between application cycles was so hard emotionally, but once I got in this time-it felt like it was worth it and meant to be. If you can, take some classes toward your BSN just to keep moving forward, and don't give up! also, I understand if you just rolled your eyes and want to slap me..because I wanted to slap everyone who tried to encourage me last December..I really did. ?

So in between application cycles, I took BSN pre-reqs including eng Comp 2. I had a B in Eng 1, but got an A in comp 2, and they actually switched out the A for the B-was not expecting that at all! Nursing skills will add points to your score, as will the HESI. I noticed they extended the application deadline to July, so you've got time to take it. Give yourself time to study so you can get the highest scores possible, and I highly recommend the website Nursehub.com. I used it after a classmate recommended it and it is full of practice quizzes and tests for every subject-and explanations after every question that teach you what you need to know. I basically relearned how to do math and relearned all of Anatomy and Physiology with it(it had been a year and a half since I took A&P 2.) She and I both ended up acing the exam, and I would not have been able to without it(I'm not paid for this, I swear LOL) Also, you can now get points for taking med terminology or working in healthcare-which I know it's kinda late to get started on. Maybe you can find a 5 week Summer med term class? And don't forget you'll get the points for reapplying-I believe it's 5. So your score will go up no matter what! Good luck!

From my nursing skills class groupme, I'm guessing the cutoff is between 36 and 36.92. Someone with 36 did not get in, but with 36.92 did.

I don't think they've told us the cutoff ranking points yet, and if I remember correctly, we didn't find out last year until we got the official rejection letter and our final ranking about a month later. I haven't heard from any former classmates yet either, but I may reach to them later this week to see what they've heard. I know at least a couple have decided to go for their BSNs elsewhere and will be declining their offers, so definitely expect a 2nd wave of acceptances out soon!

I've read in the past that EVC and CEC have reputations for being more "chill" while RR is a little more intense, but I live right in the middle of all of them and I might choose RR just to avoid downtown traffic. But RR can also get super backed up, so who knows. One of my skills teachers worked at CEC and I adored her, so I remember thinking that's where I wanted to end up ?‍♀️

aw, that is a bummer..but that is an awesome score! The past 2 semesters' cutoffs were lower(33.9 in Spring 21, 34.04 in fall) so I hope the best for you!! I know how nerve-racking it is to be so close to the cutoff though. One of my classmates from Skills then got in with a 34 after some people turned down offers. I have hope for you ?

I took it last Fall with Charlotte and Lori..can't remember their last names though! I really liked them, but it was frustrating for so much of the class to be online. @Selboats What about you? Have you taken it yet?

This time around I've got 42.68..last semester I was at 33.13. I feel more confident this time, but also still know there's a lot of competition! How are you feeling?
