Hey @bigballer4! ACC switched from the HESI to the TEAS maybe a year and a half ago. I think the cohort graduating in May might be the last of the HESI testers but I could be wrong on that. Sorry if this dated post caused you any confusion. I hope you get into the program and kick ***!

Woohoo, the application page was updated! The “last updated” date hasn’t changed but it does state that ranking emails will go out the week of the 17th and provisional acceptance emails will go out the week of the 24th! We should all have some answers real soon!

I think it depends on the school if you have to take the HESI or the TEAS, it’s not a state wide decision. Austin Community College requires the HESI (although we didn’t have to take the biology or physics sections) and I’ve talked to some folks who are applying to other schools in central texas who only accept the TEAS. Also, I think nursing programs all over are super competitive. It seems like the private schools always have spots but they are soooo pricy!

I’m feeling the stress of forgetting things for sure. I took skills last Spring and I feel most of that info has faded away. I got a job as a PCT so that I could put most of everything that we learned into practice in the hopes that I wouldn’t forget everything we learned. Hopefully we can create some quick study groups if we get accepted so that we can ace our first check off!

Hey y’all, just starting a thread for all of us who applied to be in the Spring 2023 cohort. I know there are a lot of folks who've already applied once and been through the weirdness of the application process already and there are probably a bunch of newbies on here as well. I figured that it might be nice for us to have a place to communicate since it's an odd process where we feel like we are in the dark. Fingers crossed that we all get spots and we land at our first choice of campuses!

Someone on here had a 34.08 and said that they got an acceptance letter on the second round. I’m also sitting here anxious AF with a 34. What rank did the girl that you know have?

I think so and they claimed 550 applicants?

I was under the impression that the cutoff changes based on the number of applicants each round. So yes, that was probably just for Spring 2022.

Where did you did you hear that the cutoff was 32?

I’m 100% in your same boat (1st time applicant with a 34 and 1105 isn’t part of the count) and I’m feeling really disheartened right now. You’re not alone.

You may need to wait for Fall 2023 if you didn’t take the HESI. I think Spring 2023 applications are due tomorrow (the 27th) and the HESI is required for Spring 2023. They listed a bunch of stuff like getting any type of medical license and taking one of the med terms classes will give you extra points for future applications. Check on the website to see the exact med terms class, I think there are a couple and only one counts for extra ranking points.
