  1. For me they send how much deficient I was. Maybe it depends on BON? Which one did you apply for?
  2. Could u share how to correct deficiency? I tried with Virginia BON and there were no college that could take me for Maternity and Pediatric standalone courses.
  3. Thats so cool. Wish we had same in Australia.
  4. I decided to pursue my career in healthcare technology . I think it's worth changing it now than later. Less burnout, more pay, more work life balance. I couldn't get any colleges that could accommodate me anyway. Goodluck!
  5. If you do CES, you will most likely get deficient so probably do CVS, get registered @ NY then endorse your license for Texas. Goodluck!
  6. Yes as far all the threads I read it's possible. @Daniel actually did CES for NY first, passed NCLEX then applied for CVS NY. Cuz CGFNS would have your school paperwork, they won't need anything else. I am thinking to go in that way too. Btw do u know if we can extend CES report as mine expires in 10 months. I can see expiry is 1 year from the day CES is issued.
  7. Oh okay. No, I haven't found it here either. I just rang up the admission department and they said they don't accommodate students just for those courses. Good luck. Please share if you find anything!
  8. Hi guys. I know this is an overdue post but any chance you found an online course or one on campus? Please share any knowledge. It's really appreciated!
  9. Hey, @Hanniebunz I am in the same situation as you. Did u had any luck finding those courses online or on campus? Please share any knowledge. It's really appreciated!
  10. Also, @Daniel Timmons if I wanted to give it a shot for VA, do I apply on their BON website as shown below? I see that CGFNS has VA BON as a recipient.
  11. You are so right that US likes to nickel and dime everywhere! Do you think it's worth to apply CVS although I would never go and work in NY? I am in such a dilemma about what to do and what not to... But thank you for all your replies Daniel :))
  12. Hi, @Daniel Timmons sorry to bother you again. Could you clarify if paying CGFNS the CVS service ($385 I presume) is the only requirement for NY BON? I am just asking because I didn't want to waste money as I already did for the CES report and received it this week. I am just confused that as my CES report is already ready, they will ask again to fill out the forms for my school? Also, when does this CES report expire if I am able to gain CVS from them? your reply is appreciated!
  13. Haha, gotcha ! Only if it's my lucky day or something then yeah maybe... Wow, that's honestly such a relief. So I just pay for the CVS form in CGFNS. Do I contact CGFNS for that or just pay on their website? That's all I gotta do right? IKR that was a nightmare. Studying nursing was easier than getting them forms fill out LOL.
  14. Thanks, Daniel. So should I apply on the BON website? Are they the ones to tell me what courses and where to study? Yes, will do it, hope it's worth a shot. Cuz last time I called them, they said they have no idea. Also if I pay for CVS via CGFNS now, do I need to do everything from start like tell my school to fill out forms (Cuz they were pretty pissed & had a hard time filling them out). My only concern is that CGFNS will ask me to tell the school to fill out forms again. I would be happy even if I get registration from NY BON.
  15. Hello guys, I finally received my CES report via CGFNS! Although there are:- - 0 hours of theoretical & practical for Maternal/Infant Nursing - 0 hours of theoretical & practical for Nursing Care of Children What do I do next? Does BON contact me? Or do I apply on their website? Also, has anyone done theoretical hours in Virginia? DO BON tell me where to go & study for these deficiencies? I called a few colleges. Basically, they told me to do all courses again as they don't provide standalone courses just for paeds/maternity. Happy Holidays!
  16. Thank you for your reply @A B I have applied CES w/ CGFNS but haven't heard anything back from them. Should I also get CVS service from CGFNS now or wait till I get CES report? I am just worried than deficiency will show up at CES report. As I have submitted all docs for CES, do I need to again ask my university to send them for CVS? They are kind of annoyed LOL Regards, Sam
  17. Hi @A B, Thank you to you and Daniel Timmons from all Australian nurses who are in dilemma with NYSED and other states. Your both advice hasn't got unnoticed! May I ask when the eligibility is granted, then when should NCLEX be given? In my CGFNS website, it's been a 1.5 months that all docs are shown as "Received". Should I wait till I hear something from them or apply for CVS now ? I am worried that if my college has sent correct document or not to CGFNS. Regards, Sam
  18. Hey Sarah, Mine shows "Clinical integration: Acute care" for Sem 1, " Clinical integration: Mental health" for Sem 2, "Clinical integration: complex care" for Sem 3 and "Clinical integration: speciality practice". Hope this helps. Regards, Sammy
  19. Hi @Daniel Timmons were you successful in getting licensed with New York BON yet without having to do those deficit courses? If so, was your university required to breakdown the hours of theoretical and practical like those of CGFNS form? My college is reluctant on filling those form :((( I am still stuck with CGFNS. I intend to practice in Virginia. I called Virginia BON and they are clueless on any college/university offering any of those courses. Regards, Sam
  20. Hey, IKR these paeds and obgyn clinical hours criteria is insane! I am happy to study and do course but seems none college/university offer those standalone courses.. So depressing fr! I applied CES CGFNS. I already got green card so I don't require visa screen one. In such a dilemma, I think I will go through NY Board as well.
  21. Hi @hypnotizer90 do u know anyone who has gone through the process of completing these deficiencies of paeds/obgyn? Do u think going via NYBON would be flexible on these hours in compare to CGFNS?
  22. Hey Aussie nurses, How are you all doing? This post is long overdue but may I ask if any of u guys managed to find any course/ additional coursework at the states to overcome this deficiency? I am in the same boat. After research, I found New York BON doesn't require CGFNS so, I was thinking to go via them although I lack clinical hours in paeds and obgyn. Any insights will be very much appreciated! Cheers !
  23. Hi guys, I am RN from Australia and want to become USRN. I am in the process with CGFNS but my uni has already mentioned n/a for paeds & obgyn. So I am pretty sure my CES report will be deficit and is there any stand alone courses available to fill these up? I heard New York BON doesn’t need CGFNS. Are they or any other states flexible or will the evaluation be the same?? Any insight is highly appreciated guys !
  24. Hi Rex, Ah, right.. I think CGFNS is needed for visa screening. I have recently got green card at the states so I think I won't have to go through the CGFNS. 3 months in and still my college is very vague & reluctant to fill out those forms!! Good luck with your process too, I will update if I hear anything back.
  25. Hey Chelsea, I was grateful enough for my uni to sent me tracking number for the forms. It said delivered 10 days ago but in CGFNS website says " Waiting for Initial document". I had majority of my placement on Medical ward :( Hopefully I can do some courses over at the states. I saw other Aussie nurses on the forum saying that they were deficient as well but no valid answer how they overcome that ! Hey Rex, yes Aphra won't fill out any forms. It's stated on their website that they have come into agreement w/ other international bodies. I would attach the link but can't find it now, (I read months ago on Aphra website when I applied). I am confident that CGFNS will approve it. Mine says " Received". Most of my research says that CGFNS is very much time consuming so, I kinda wished I would have done w/ NewYork BON by filling 2 forms. Have a look onto those if u haven't paid the amount to CGFNS! Cheers!
