  1. The years of experience will always help you be a more competent/safe nurse. The salary is the same in cath lab as in any critical care setting in the hospital. As for outpatient it may be slightly lower, unless you take call. I work part time, 15years of experience, about 100 hrs of call every 2 weeks, and make 70,000+/yr. in Southern California. My average productive hours a pay period, 30 hrs.
  2. Where I work, they actually do much more than all that. We get a breakfast served to us by the administrators, we get a special gift ( usually a bag ) , we get a raffle drawing for a day at a spa (main thing) and other smaller raffle items. We get an icecream social, and pizzas delivered to the night shift (delivered to the floors by the administrators). Not bad, but we always want more, because we deserve more!! oh the massages are also available during the day hours if you can get to them!
