Hi future nurses! I'm seriously considering attending SPSON in May. The only issue is the accreditation. Supposedly they are regionally accredited and not nationally. There are a few BSN programs that will accept not all. I found a review and messaged the young lady asking Did things get better, I'm thinking about attending the school but I'm seeing terrible reviews... She responded and said she graduated in December, things were still bad but they transitioned to in person and a lot of the good professors left so theres talk about the school loosing accreditation soon." she responded 4/5/22 5:34pm. She also said she graduated with her associates, passed NCLEX on first try and is now attending a BSN program ?
I did notice on NYSDOE it stated in 2020 or 2021 55% of students passed NCLEX on first try... The partial accrediting that they do have if students continue passing at such a low percentage I'm assuming they will lose it. So I am hoping the next few graduating class brings up that stat because I cant imagine attending and they they lose all accredits.....
So right now we should all just be researching on their accreditation. SPSON states they are institutionally accredited on their site. I also looked into ASA college when I researched their accreditation it said they were on probation. Therefore I did not proceed with an application there. Is there a way we can get a copy of their accreditation contract? When does their accreditation expire? Or are they in good standing for at least the next two years..?
I passed my HESI last week. They called in about 3 business days...
