@Aligned Chakra Yes, I commented on an AVC students forum a while back and they said that they got their health insurance from their job but that AVC never asked for proof or anything. Tbh maybe ask the nursing counselor about it just to be safe. I honestly don't know if it's required for the program considering I dropped it before the semester started for personal/ financial reasons. Also they were changing a lot of things before the classes even started regarding textbooks, etc..I didn't want to feel unprepared. If you do get an update about it please let me know, if you can, I'm considering applying again for next fall.

Hello, not sure if anyone will see this as I know this is a old forum but just curious, to those who got in the nursing program did you have to have health insurance to be able to be fully accepted into the nursing program? Or were you able to do the program without it?

Okay so to anyone who got accepted. I'm confused, is health insurance required for the programs?? Because I don't have any & can't afford it unfortunately ? Has anyone done the nursing program without health insurance?

yes I believe those who applied for the lvn-RN bridge program received their emails already. Not the generic RN yet. you scared me for a second there LOL

I feel like we'll probably hear from them late May or in June. I checked the thread for last years applicants and they found out early June. Hopefully we can know sooner!

No, I was going to but ended up deciding not to. They emailed me back tho. They corrected the mistake and said that the people who have applied to the RN program haven't received any emails yet

I received an email saying they received the vocational nursing application but I turned in the application for registered nursing. So confused.. I emailed them back to make sure they have the right application from me. Hopefully I didn't turn in the vocational nursing app. also the email said we'd know late April early May , we'll for the vocational nursing. Not sure about the RN program

I applied to the general RN program with 70 points. I'm kinda nervous about the new point system too.

Unfortunately, I don't think they do. You could maybe ask the nursing counselor to see if there is a way but I feel like they're strict with the deadline.

Also, for those who applied to the RN program already, would you mind sharing how many points you've applied with? I'm debating whether to apply to the lvn program as a backup

For the RN program, it's still out of 100 points but there are just more chances for points I believe. Like you can get points if for more certificates like respiratory therapist, etc.. or if you took all prereqs at avc or if you have a certain amount of hours worked or volunteered at a hospital working with patients. You would just need to add in additional forms to your application for the hours or other certificates you have If you go to the avc website you can see the updated point distribution for the RN program

Thank you! I'll be dropping off my application Monday! I got an 84%! I ended up having loading issues from their end during the last 6 problems. It took like 20 minutes of loading until I figured out I could close the exam then log in and continue again however it still took forever to load & get me into the actual exam again.
