  1. What state are you in? I am not familiar with SAM? I would reach out to the OIG and your BON.
  2. Yay! I'm so happy for you!!
  3. I completely understand! This is my 2nd round with the BON, very aware....hope you hear something soon!
  4. I would think as long as they have the order, you should be fine. I would call just to be sure!
  5. They were actually very nice and never questioned anything I had put on the application.
  6. That is odd for them to suspend for 5 years. Usually it is until you are reinstated? Or was for me. When you are reinstated, I would call them and see if you can get a shorter time.
  7. Yes. But when can you be reinstated through the board of nursing?
  8. I was excluded atleast a year or until I got my license reinstated, when can you get you get reinstated?
  9. Awesome!! I figured that is exactly what happened! Congratulations!
  10. Of course! Please post what you find out!
  11. It was about 2 weeks, maybe less.
  12. Yes, I was actually reinstated by the OIG and didn't know, they said they had mailed a letter and I never received. Look on emails from the OIG and there is a number at the bottom, call it, it is a wait but when I called they were able to tell me I was reinstated and forwarded me an email stating reinstatement, I then sent it to my coordinator.
  13. Hi! Has anyone been placed on the OIG exclusion list? If so, how long did it take for you to get reinstated. I am reinstated through the BON, but am awaiting the letter from the OIG.
  14. I'm glad you didn't get in trouble, but I feel your pain with the multiple tests. Must be the going fun for the board, I just had to take a blood test Monday!
  15. Hi! I am in NC and I think you are too, you can miss way more than 2 check ins per year and I believe you can't have greater than 3 days in a row of missed check ins. It can be found somewhere in your paperwork about FSSolutions. You should be just fine!

Hi all! I am from NC and just stumbled across these stories.....I wanted to share mine. Back in 2016 I was caught for diverting narcotics for myself x2 yrs. I started the Alternative program and was successful until 3 months before I was actually going to be done with the program and was selected for a drug screen, and tested positive for alcohol. I never even liked alcohol. Just 2 days before I decided to buy a couple bottles of wine and finish them. Ultimately, my license were suspended in April 2020. After that, I started drinking more. Not every day, but probably every weekend. I was still passing drug screens because now I have to show a year of sobriety to the BON to even be considered for reinstatement. Well, February 2021, selected for a blood test and of course tested pos again. Another year of waiting....here I am last week and received a letter from the BON stating now you only have to show 6 months of sobriety. This is a blessing, but of course, I can't help but be bitter. Is this due to the nursing shortage? The world setting healthcare on fire? When I was pleading for my license they never once batted an eye of decreasing time......anyway, I have been in IOP and aftercare ever since March 2021 and I have been completely sober. I am turning in the wonderful sobriety notebook in 2 weeks. Since there will be permanent marks on my license, do you guys have any suggestions of job opportunities. I have done dialysis and loved it, but the hours and weekends are a nuisance. Also, I have 10 years experience in a hospital, I do not want to go back to that. Thanks for any insight!
