Reported to DEA
Actually this can be true, the reason is: If the "Facility" has had diversions in the past they have no choice but to report (like already on probation sort of speak) When you say "write it in" I'm assuming there is no pyxis or omnicell. In that case it's a little harder because one can easily make a human error a lot more "sort of speak." -- So with that being said this may be true. But why wasn't it caught the day of? At the end of shift count? Did someone write something there after the fact? Hmmm.... But here's the thing it would start with an "internal" investigation with HR, Pharm, Supervisors & OP. But being that OP is no longer working there is prob why they went straight to the DEA. If that's even true. Call them back, ask for the person you spoke with, tell them to send you something in writing via email. Tell them you want a copy of the "report" (if they say, that person does not work there, then someone's *** with you) If they refuse, tell them to give you the person to speak with at the DEA, press them for something! Anything. Try to piece these things together, because believe it or not there are people that do some really silly things just to try to make peoples lives miserable (like pranks)

Kaiser NorCal Nurse Residency Cohort 9 July 2024
Rejection email here as well. Graduated with honors 3.90, all certificates needed and more. Uploaded all transcripts. Including portfolio. This process has to be random when selecting applicants. The reason I say this is because, I know many many applicants that have applied this cohort and have been working at Kaiser for many many years only to be denied. There are applicants that have no association with Kaiser whatsoever and have been selected (go figure) I am not upset at all that I was not chosen; things happen for a reason. (I mean with all transparency, I was going to give up my offer if I had been chosen. As, I did not want to be in Medsurg for a year) I am just glad I held on to my offered ED Trauma position. Please apply to positions and not rely on these programs, the longer the wait; the longer you will lose your skills. Good luck you all ?

Kaiser NorCal Nurse Residency Cohort 9 July 2024
Hey Ramsey, Thanks for all the informative information. This is great. I do have a question about bidding after the 6 months to a specialty clinic such as the ED, I seen they had like ICU, Peds, Etc - but don't see the ED. Another poster gave valuable information regarding being a part of TPMG, so my questions to you are: Is it possible to transfer over to the ED at that year point? with only med surg or tele experience? "The ED does require 1 year exp" If after one gets into this program, can that person pick up a per diem position elsewhere? Technically, it would be experience after the fact? Thank you for all the help!

Kaiser NorCal Nurse Residency Cohort 9 July 2024
Hi, Thank you OP for creating this thread. I have also applied to cohort 9. Received & filled out the snapshot yesterday. Choices were; East bay Solano I have my license already, along with BLS, ACLS, EKG, NIHSS, and a couple other ED needed certificates. ED is where my heart is, so my question is if one gets accepted into this program, is there an option after the 6 month period to (bid or transfer) to another unit? Or does that person have to complete the entire 12 months on medsurg/tele units? Does anyone know how the point system works? I know they take a GPA into consideration as well right? I have a ED trauma position offer right now, but I'm really wanting to try for cohort 9. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. xoxo

Can someone please explain this to me in plain english.
Hi Nurse Beth, Wow! It amazes me on what our Hospital's get away with. SMH, and they wonder why human errors occur; being out of compliance contributes to these errors..... Nurse Beth, Thank you for the clarification.

Hi Nurse Beth, So just to clarify. If there are "40" patients in the ED (Fast Track) does this rule above still apply? Thank you!

Can someone please explain this to me in plain english.
I understand it, but then don't understand it. For example: Emergency Room: Fast Track -----> More than 15 patients at a time sometimes 20. Does this mean that LVNs cannot care for more than 1/2 of these patients alone? Should there technically be another LVN on the floor or RN? In the Emergency Room Psychiatric Department when there are (4) patients assigned (2) sometimes (3) needing total care; -----> Does this 50% apply to this too? Thank you!
