  1. Yea your right! Im gonna keep applying but take this one while im applying just in case. Yea if I took the PCU/MS positions that will push back my CRNA apps & I don't wanna do that. Im thinking of going for SICU/CVICU.
  2. OMG thank you!! I needed this! I've read many post & ppl keep telling me that as float pool I won't be getting the most critical patients & that I should look elsewhere for a specific ICU staff position. Im just out of options, I've been offered PCU & MS but I feel that will push my CRNA journey back even more! Do you think Float ICU would be good enough for me? Also, after a year do u think I'll be able to choose a unit such as CVICU/CICU for more intense experience?
  3. Hello!! Goal is to be a CRNA asap! (Thinking about applying at 2yr's) I have been offered a new grad residency position in the ICU as a relief nurse where I will be cross trained in Neuro ICU, CCU, Trauma & Medical ICU. Is this a good position for CRNA exp? I believe the pt acuity will always be high acuity bc it is the only Lv1 trauma center in a big radius. Should I finish the new grad program for a year then transfer to a specific unit or stay here? Total new grad residency cross training will last a year then they offer a fellowship program after if I would like where I will further specialize & be trained for more leadership roles. TIA!!
  4. Yup! You have to either have worked here, have really good reference or gone to ucla ?
  5. I still havent been contacted for scheduling an interviewing. im still under consideration though so Im guessing I will not be getting an offer since people have already interviewed & waiting for an offer??‍♂️
  6. Just applied! Theyre only taking about 2 per unit correct? also for those who went to the meet & greet, how was it?
  7. No it's still under consideration but everyone else has been interviewing & I havent received anything.
  8. I guess since I wasnt invited to interview or gotten a call back I am no longer being considered ?
  9. Nope! Im still scared they won't consider me since I accidentally didn't upload all of the docs necessary ?
  10. App says "In Process" does this mean they"re currently calling to set up interviews?
  11. Anybody know how many spots each ICU offered? Really curious to see which ICUs took more applicants..
  12. OMG same! Those instructions are so confusing. I sent them to HR & asked for an update but nothing.... please keep me updated! Im scared they only sent what I uploaded on the app & not the rest of docs
  13. Thank you! As Im applying & interviewing I will keep that in mind! Do you know of any website that can help me determine if a smaller hospital is high acuity? Or should it just be based off of what I see in the ICU in person?
  14. Currently applying to New Grad programs & the Lv 1 trauma centers Im applying to are offering medsurg positions. Debating if I should apply to smaller community hospitals which will most likely be Lv 2 or Lv3. My ultimate goal is CRNA & I've called CRNA schools & the Lv 1 is better for exp as will def have Higher acuity, anybody know what the best route is? Im lost.. Should I accept the Lv 1 teaching hospital MS & work way up even though this will take longer or accept a Lv2/3 smaller hospital in ICU? Or smaller hospital then after 2yrs to my top choice UCL ICU? (Not sure about this one as jumping around hospitals won't look that well for apps, or is 2yrs good enough?). THANK YOU!
  15. Does anybody know when we can expect a response & when the programs starts?
  16. Omgg! How did u get an interview for LTICU & CTICU?
  17. Must be nice! I put Liver Transplant as one of my options but was given NeuroMS ? debating to take it & transfer to ICU (which will take 2yrs) or just go elsewhere... Omgg!! Anyway I can still land an interview? ? This is where I want to be!
  18. Following
  19. You're totally right! I was just blindsided by UCLA being UCLA.
  20. Applied to MICU & Surgical Transplant ICU. Got an interview for OR & Neuro MS. Goal is ICU! IDK what to do! Goal is for ICU for CRNA school so im debating of going to another hospital that gets me into ICU, or should I stay at UCLA? HELP!
