  1. I contacted financial aid about this. I received a separate letter in the portal stating my scholarship amount. If you scroll to the bottom of the page you can switch between the two letters. The person in the financial aid office said the amount listed in the letter is based on need AND merit and may include endowed scholarships. So basically, it's all the money you'll get from UPenn and then the "financial aid" coming out later will be based on the FAFSA and government loans. There's a financial aid session on February 2nd so they should be able to clear up questions then.
  2. Congrats to everyone! How many people are planning to attend?
  3. Start time depends on each program. The website says all grad students in clinical require licensure in PA, NJ, and DE. Some of the programs also require actual working RN experience, not just licensure. I'm wondering if the time between passing the NCLEX and actually receiving a license can vary? The website says the students graduating in May (traditional BSN) don't qualify to immediately start Women's Health/Gender related NP Program due to licensure requirements, so there has to be a reason the timing is set up that way.
  4. Anyone that has been accepted, what do scholarship packages look like? I have my interview for the FACT 2 next week. I was accepted at the MSN at Hopkins and the BSN/MSN at UPenn but I don't know how to come up with the money even with > 30K in scholarship at both schools. I know FACT 2 Tuition is total around $90K.
  5. It's listed in your letter, I received notification on Wednesday with a date of February 18th, yours may be slightly different.
  6. I also got $30,000. I'm hoping to hear back about the leadership scholarship, need-based aid, and loans through FAFSA.
  7. Did anyone else apply to the Amy Gutmann Leadership scholars program and if so did your acceptance mention it?
  8. Just got an email stating there was an update! You have to click on the link in the email to see it.
  9. Yeah materials received is gone for me as well but the application checklist is still there. They must be getting ready to post stuff but still could be next week.
  10. Does anyone know how decisions are released? Is it email or do we have to check the application portal?
  11. Yes! It includes Summer. I found an info video that showed an example schedule. So fall start is Fall 22, Spring 23, Summer 23, Fall 23, Spring 24
  12. You're totally right, I was misreading the Jefferson page. I knew that Hopkins you don't end up as an NP I was just not understanding the certificate process. Thank you for this info, it's really helpful. I might find out how many credits from Hopkins could transfer for a future MSN to become an NP if I was an RN for a while and went back to school later if I still wanted to. So many factors to consider. Good luck!!
  13. Yeah, I'm trying to balance out all of those things. I do like the BSN option and then specializing for the MSN to be an NP. In the long run it may take more time and a lot more $. One thing I'm considering that would be nice with Hopkins is getting the MSN and then doing a post-degree certificate in my area of interest which would only be 18 additional credits.
  14. Just got my acceptance via email this morning! Is Hopkins everyone's top choice? Is anyone deciding between any other programs? I'm waiting to hear back from Upenn as well and conflicted (I already live in Philadelphia).
  15. Has anyone heard back yet? I got an acceptance email from the MSN at Johns Hopkins today. I applied to the BSN-MSN Women's Health/Gender Related. Did anyone else apply to Hopkins as well? I don't have any nursing background, majored in psych with a 3.8 undergrad, 4.0 pre-requisites, and work experience in social work. Anyone that looked at both Upenn and hopkins, any thoughts about the two programs? My pro con list is pretty long, but obviously, I have to get into Penn in the first place in order to decide between them.
