Should Male Nurse Work In L&D?
I had the same thought...having given birth, I honestly wouldn't have minded a male L&D. As a Nurse, having only worked in NB Nursery & Peds, I can't really give imput per experience. I think, perhaps, as someone pointed out there may be some issue for some pts. Good Luck! NICU Nurses are Angels!! To that I can speak to with experience! My twin grandsons born premature. Wilmington hospital NC..NICU staff were amazing! Aiden died at 5 days after being flown to Duke with necrotizing bowel.. Logan died at 5 weeks, succumbing to NB, as well. It wasn't the best outcome but doesn't change how amazing NICU profs are!

Access To Providers Personal Cell
Agree about provider choice! Their office number only appears on face sheet. Only Charge nurses or supes have their PN. Hell No! Not on a face sheet!

Access To Providers Personal Cell
Guess that's what I was trying to say in a long winded kind of way ?

Access To Providers Personal Cell
This has nothing to do with Hippaa. It is a problem if it's no OK with you. Where I work Charge nurses an UMs have all MD/NP/PA contacts in our phone...many are personal cell contacts. The NP that covers over half our patients prefers this method of communication. I rarely just call her but text..I.e; BV on OB unit PT/INR. Scanned image attached. Please advise. She'll either text back "continue with current warfarin dose or call me back. All of our cell phones have facility firewalls. If it's not your method of contact preference then it's unfortunate your # was obtained. Either way..it's HIGHLY inappropriate of whoever called you about a family member...no matter the time of day or night!

Nurse Licensure Compact
I am licensed in my home state of PA as an LPN. 4 years ago, I left a job of 27 years to move to SC to care for my Mother, now deceased. No regrets.. Precious time. I became a resident of SC and did not transfer my licensure from PA which I have kept active there. With Mom gone, I am seeking to return to my career that I Love. Will I be able to apply for compact licensure in PA, my original State of license though my current residence is in SC?? *Note: I would sooner, if necessary, move to PA and change residence than go through the exhausting process of transferring to SC with the 2 year endorsement period now expired. Pretty sure they wanted my first born child too ??? Any advise?
