  1. It's usually charting. I am so focused on getting tasks done that I do the bulk of it at the end of the shift. Prioritization is improving but I feel I still fall into the trap of doing the first thing that pops up, usually changing my schedule completely. Charting is what makes it go especially long though.
  2. I have been an RN on a med surge unit for about 13.5 months. I was on night shift until last week, and recently decided to switch to days so the sun would motivate me to actually do something on my day off. No matter what I do on either shift, it usually ends up going 14 to 15 hours usually without lunch. I still have a really hard time asking for help, not because it isn't offered, but because I feel I don't know where to start. I know that I look and feel overwhelmed. My mental health has become less bad, but I still wouldn't call it good just feel like I go to my job every shift and fail. Does anyone have tips as to what I can do to improve this? Should I fully have the hang of it by now?
  3. Hello. I just made my AllNurses account today, so I apologize if this is the wrong forum to post in. I am currently about halfway done with nursing school in DePaul University's Master's Entry into nursing program. In addition to studying, I am currently trying to set myself up to move to Tennessee upon graduation. Unfortunately, figuring out how and where to get licensed is proving challenging. If I take the NCLEX in Illinois, I will have to transfer the license by endorsement. If I take it in Tennessee, I will be licensed in the state I want to go to, but I will have to wait longer to take the NCLEX and be licensed. Most people are advising me to get the license in Illinois first, as some have told me as long as I have a license, I may still be eligible for jobs in other states. Have others heard this? Are there any good resources for helping me make an informed decision regarding which state I should apply to?
