  1. The Macbook specifications are so annoying, I got mine right before they switched to the M1 chip (like Sept. 2020) so they don’t even recommend mine anymore ?
  2. Oh yeah if you read the Technical Requirements the only one they don’t allow is the iPad Pro!
  3. The regular iPad is actually a bit smaller than the iPad Air I think! Unless you mean the mini?
  4. Has anyone already purchased/already have an iPad? Any recommendations? I'm considering the regular iPad vs the iPad Air and not sure if the Air is worth it!
  5. I’m sure once we all get our clinical sites we’ll be figuring out how best to get there — don’t worry I’m sure we’ll all figure it out! ?
  6. Same! Pittsburgh has a pretty great bus system and with some practice/timing I think the bus will be fine.
  7. I know, and I did, but of course they send you through like 5 different “press here for XYZ” channels and couldn’t figure out how to reach a human!
  8. Hey everyone! Another question. How long did Identogo take to send your fingerprint results/info? I had my fingerprinting appointment a month ago (in PA) and the status still says 'processing.' I'm a bit worried this is going to become a pain in my butt if it isn't processed soon, ugh
  9. Does anyone in the Pittsburgh area have a recommendation for a place to complete your preclinical health requirements (other than the student health center)?
  10. The package code is in the "Second Degree and BME BSN Clinical Requirement Checklist 2022-2023" in DORI (which is found in this link: https://portal.duq.edu/web/home/index)
  11. Hey! I'm having trouble with CastleBranch. How do you log in to the website? What did you use to log in? I can't figure it out (sorry if it's obvious and I'm just missing it! LOL) Edit: NVM! Figured it out. That was tricky!
  12. I haven't even started this stuff yet (moving to PGH in 2 weeks!) so you're far ahead of me!
  13. Ah yes! That's one of the ones I have left. I took a break (mistake) and I'm finding it so hard to jump back into it LOL. Going to try to finish Micro first and then tackle A&P II. Nutrition was surprisingly annoying for me but not hard. You'll do great!
  14. Is anyone still working on prerequisites? I am doing two through Portage and after being accepted I lost a bit of motivation (don't worry - I plan on getting it back)! If anyone wants to make a group or something for support I'd be all for it. Good luck to everyone applying and congrats to everyone who got in! I am very excited.
  15. I had a 3.3 undergrad GPA in Biology (3.8 in prereqs I think) and currently work as a Clinical Research Associate at a big hospital in Massachusetts (that’s my only clinical experience).
  16. Yeah I’m out of state! Tuition was a big factor to me (if I got in multiple places) and I’ll be able to live rent free in Pittsburgh so it’s a big difference ultimately.
  17. I also just got an email that I was accepted! I am leaning towards Duquesne as I would like to be in Pittsburgh. That will free up a spot on the waitlist for someone!
  18. “Dear UB ABS Applicant, We have a delay in the notification of our offers. We thank you for your continued patience. Decision letters will be sent next week.” I think it’ll be both
  19. I just got an email that there's been a delay in their offers, so emails won't come until next week ?
  20. Has anyone been able to call or get an email response?
  21. I applied and still haven’t heard anything!
  22. Hi! I had a 3.3 GPA in undergrad (bio degree) and about a 3.8 in my prereqs. I applied shortly after the application opened and heard back in about a month. This is so so wonderful to hear, @xcontraindicatedx! Thanks so much for posting! Did you feel that the 12 month program was manageable? Where did you do your clinicals and did you enjoy them/learn a lot during them? And congrats on graduating and finding excellent jobs!!
  23. Congratulations @semitchell23 and @emxoxo5001! I think I will be doing the 12 month program as well. I am leaning more and more towards Duquesne as I look at the cost of living in Pittsburgh versus other places I have applied. The good reputation that Duquesne Nursing has is also a big factor! Just waiting to hear from other programs before I commit. I am not sure about living situations for ABSN students @emxoxo5001, but I know that a lot of people live off campus because apartments are pretty reasonable. I'm not sure exactly which neighborhoods people tend to go to, but I assume all the ones convenient to Duquesne. You could definitely reach out to Gina (the admissions counselor) - she is super helpful!
  24. Hi! Congrats to you too!! What have you heard about the program? I’ve only really read stuff on this site so I don’t have a large collection of knowledge about the program. I personally love Pittsburgh! My boyfriend is from there (living in Boston now) and I’ve been able to visit a few times with him - it’s beautiful and it has an excellent college town feel with lots to do and see, while being affordable to live in. And excellent hospital systems!
