WHAT I'D LIKE YOU TO KNOW ABOUT ME: I got married a year ago, and I love every minute of it! Hey guys. Just thought I'd add that I'm taking Bio, Chem, and Anatomy together this fall. (I've already taken Physiology and Micro, and I got married a year ago next week!) I know its alot, but it will be well worth it come application time, right? I totally agree with the posters that said it depends on your personality and the level of committment you're willing to give. And of course the reality of whether or not you think you can with the little boys around. I think you'll be fine, and I'm rooting for ya! GOOD LUCK! Kacy

I'm sure you can make it work. It sounds as though you really want this now. Also, something I just remembered: Once you find a school, use the contacts to get in touch with a human! When I found my school, I called and spoke to the program director, and she REALLY helped me. Told me things that weren't in the requested information, where to go to get financial aid, etc. Using the resources that are (usually) listed in the booklets/on the website can help tremendously! Hi! I don't know how much help this will be..... but: You could start by checking with the colleges around your area and find out if they have nursing programs. Then request information from the programs that interest you. (They should send you program info, costs, requirements, etc.) Then apply. :) Like I said, don't know if this helped....And I certainly hope I didn't offend you (my advice could mistaken as a "duh"). Ok, maybe I just heard the wrong thing, but at the clinic my mother works at, FMLA is for 12 weeks, however, the employer doesn't have to pay you for the 12 weeks, but they have got to hold your job for those 12 weeks. Anyone know the truth? Or is that the truth? Just wondering! Kacy

Well, guys, I just spoke with my advisor and she told me that I have nothing else to do but WAIT! (My school gets the transcripts themselves AND the application is filled out when you go to preregister for your final "prereq" semester.) In this case, mine was filled out in December, and I have nothing left to do. This sucks. Why, you ask? Well, now all I can do is W-A-I-T. And I'm no good at that! :D Anyway, she also said that her daughter was wanting her and her husband to go on vacation with them the 2nd week of June............ which means the letters have to be out BEFORE then! YAYAYAYAY! :cheers: Anyway, just thought I'd update! (BTW, GOOD LUCK to everyone out there waiting!! ) Kacy

I just wanted to say that I am (hopefully) starting nursing school in Aug 06. I just got married in August, and we wanted to start a family right away. However, knowing I was going to be in school (not to mention possibly NURSING school), we decided against it. But, after reading these posts, I can now talk to my husband and maybe we can plan to have a baby in the same time frame as what you all are talking about! I've only been at this site for about a week now, and everyday I find/learn/use something else from someone on here. Kinda weird, huh? Anyway, thanks for letting me ramble! :) Kacy

hey there everyone! well, as are most you, i am awaiting the start of nursing school. i finish my last semester as a pre-nursing student on may 4th, and then i will have to wait until (the very latest) july 1st, to see if i got accepted!! [color=#00bfff] [color=#00bfff]i told my husband that he better not "mess with me" from the start of my final exams this semester til the time i receive that letter! :) talk about being worried!
