  1. Consider calling them tomorrow and ask if they still have yet to send out acceptances from the first round of seat offers. I've heard that they come in waves as students decline seats they go down the list.
  2. I made a FB group for those accepted, so we can begin sharing information and resources as we receive them https://www.facebook.com/groups/nccnursingspring2022
  3. I got in! Please see my prior post for my stats!!
  4. Makes sense on the TEAS and thank you for the micro breakdown. What was your teachers name may I ask? I’ll be taking it in the Spring!
  5. I hope so! How did you feel about micro? I heard it’s very hard! did you get the same exam for the TEAS as your previous attempt? Mine was and I’m wondering if it’s a fluke or if it’s designed as the retakes being the same exact exam.
  6. Oh you’re a shoe in!! I feel like congratulating you already LOL ;-) good job there famous kitten! I hope I’m a part of your cohort! :)
  7. Yes! They offer a ft program Spring start. They have day and night options but night is much more competitive. Calculate your points to see where you would fall according to my prior post, there’s never a guarantee but I think you have a good shot!!
  8. Hey Famous Kitten! I love your napkin math. I wish I did just slightly better on the TEAS but I am not as worried about not getting in as I was before, I accepted a preschool teaching job for the next school year so my hands will be tied with the number of classes I can take no matter if I get in the program right away or not. I still really hope to get in!! But I've told myself if I don't I will just keep reapplying as I complete the last two pre-req's and maybe take the TEAS yet again... How is Microbiology? In the Fall I will either take Microbiology or pathophysiology, which I heard from the Dept Chair will be "the hardest class you will ever take in your life!" heh.. intimidating! People have made FB pages for the nursing program, maybe as more people join we can do that too! I joined Fall 2020 just to check things out. Fingers crossed to us getting in ?
  9. Just wanted to update my post with my updated TEAS scores: Total score: 86/Advanced Reading: 85 Math: 93 Science: 80 ELA: 87 Total NCC points for TEAS: 45 Total NCC points: 26 credits x 4 (for all A's)= 104 +15 (NCC resident & never been in program before)= 119 +45 = 164 points. Fingers crossed!
  10. I'm definitely focusing on the TEAS, I'm using an app and ATI TEAS Secrets from Mometrix. And Youtube videos. My first attempt was without any AP classes, so that should make a solid difference. I attended the NCC info session and asked about their point system used to rank applicants. For the TEAS, you score each section: up to 79.9 is 5 points, 80-91 is 10 points, 92-100 is 15 points. They super-score so count the best score from each section from each attempt. Add those up. You get 10 points for being a Nassau county resident and 5 for never attending a nursing program before. For every class you take- you multiply the number of credits of the class by the points your grade affords you. An A gives you 4 points, a B gives you a 3 and a C a 2. You add all these up for your total points. I'm a 154 according to that.
  11. Famous Kitten, you feel like a shoe-in!! Are you planning on applying to night or just day? any idea what the cutoff for points for those admitted usually is?
  12. Hi Everyone, I wanted to create a thread for applicants of Spring 2022 to come and chat. Ill be applying with transfer credits for General Psych, Eng 1 and A's in AP1, Developmental Psych, Stat, Biomed Ethics. AP2 to be completed in Summer session 2. My TEAS average is 78, with science a 60 followed by next lowest score of ELA as 70, but I am retaking it this Aug. Applying for Day program bc I fear Night is out of reach for me RN. Catherine
  13. Hi I m also applying to Spring 2022, I may apply to QCC and SCC too. Are you interested in the day or night programs? Do you by any chance know if the facebook group has been started yet? I will not have all pre-req completed. I will be missing 2. Taking the TEAS Aug 28 as my last attempt was poor in Science and Langauge.
