Stuck with how to move forward in Nursing
Hey, So I am also an LVT (licensed veterinary technician) in NYC I've been doing it for ten years and I want to get into humans. I applied to an AS RN program here and was unable to get in. You have to apply to the school, take a course at that school to take the nursing entrance exam and then you can apply to the program. I applied with a 3.5GPA. You can basically only apply to one program at a time, (cant attend two different schools at the same time) with all these steps you need to take. It's difficult and I can only do so much since I already have courses transferring in that I can't bring up because they are a passing grade. I decided maybe I should get my bachelors (got into a school that offers BA/BS) and then apply to multiple accelerated program Bachelors to BSN programs. I was thinking while obtaining the bachelors to get a CNA certificate and work in a hospital for the experience. Now I am being told that I would be a waste of money and those programs (Bachelors to BSN) are just as difficult to get into. I want to work with humans, I know I'll be good. I am honestly lost right now though with how to move forward and classes start next week.

City Tech Fall 2021
No I did not get in. I may have caused panic thinking I didn't get in with a 3.8. But I didn't get in with a 3.54 No, did not get in. Got the Saturday afternoon denial letter at brunch. Blamed my tears on my sunscreen ❤️

City Tech Fall 2021
Ya'll I lied. I overlooked a large detail that you can only have one replacement so I did not have a 3.8, the highest I can get my GPA is a 3.54. So don't read my post and panic that you have to be a 4.0 student. Although that would greatly help your chances. Best of luck to everyone this semester and those applying again in the Spring.

I also did a two month study, and took practice tests. Because I hadn't taken A&P 2 yet, I watched a lot of Youtube videos describing the endocrine systems. Dr Matt & Dr Mike was a good channel

City Tech Fall 2021
LOL at the too many Bloody Marys ❤️ Ya’ll I'm home getting the receipts. Just so you guys know I'm not lying, and so I can wallow in self pity for a moment. I’m unsure of how to find my transfer GPA. At City Tech of all the classes I took, A’s. Alright, let's talk plan B's.... bachelors in science and then an accelerated bachelors to nursing program? Bachelors in science then PA school? Obvi trying again in the Spring but staying ready.

City Tech Fall 2021
Girl I’m gonna assume you got in. I also got rejected. Transfer student. Raised all the grades I could by taking child psych. Couldn’t raise my English score because it’s as high as I could go. English B, Child Psych A, Math A, Anatomy A, TEAS 81.3% Damn, time for a plan B. It hurts but I also just had three Bloody Mary’s so I feel alittle better. Girl I’m gonna assume you got in.
