Hello @MommaRN1214, I just had my interview today, and I feel mine was unfavorable as well... Can you give me your feedback on the program? Were you able to work? Was it just overhyped or do you feel you can not work while in this program? Thank you!

@Vee_ In my experience, I'd say Organizational Behavior, Human Services, and adults in transition were low-maintenance classes for me.

Yes! The thing about the dosage calc is that its not hard at all! You just have to be very careful not to make silly mistakes. look up things like dimensional analysis at least that's what got me through. Nurse Sarah on Youtube registered nurse RN was a big help. Practice, practice, practice! But one semester at a time LOL yall are so sweet ?

@Sbabyyyxoxo OK cool! You're almost like me! LOL, I took way of being and human inheritance this past Spring. The professor(MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) for human inheritance is sooooo good! OMG I love her I wish she taught nursing! I only took way of being and Human Inheritance for the Spring because I didn't want any filler classes distracting me. The downside to that is I had to pay out of pocket for a portion of my tuition because I was part-time. So its really up to you about what you can handle and whatnot. Way of being was easy as well its just the pressure of making sure you pass the final which is what had everyone on edge. If you fail the Way of Being final you fail the class! 85% and above is passing. You get another chance though but after that it's over ? So do well the first time! LOL I'm rooting for you! ?

@Sbabyyyxoxo are those other classes fillers for your 12 credit minimum or are they electives for the curriculum?

@Sbabyyyxoxo As far as stats was concerned I transferred that credit in. I'm not sure how they teach it in SJU but I used Youtube a lot like crash course and other channels I can't remember. I'm not sure if you have professor (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) for religion but if you do you won't need any help he is very straightforward and as long as you give him what he asks for you will be fine. All he required was short journals on our last class session a week, a current event PP presentation on our assigned religion, and I think one exam, one midterm, and the final. World religion was a very low maintenance class. I would also suggest quizlet as a resource as well. @Sbabyyyxoxo transfer seminar I did online. It was extremely easy. You'll do just fine.

No I haven't I just went ahead and got the digital. I think we have to get it because of the online program we have to use for the class.

@lg0600 Yes definitely! I am a little nervous but excited to get this thing going! I hear so many catty things about other cohorts at other schools. Based on some of the girls I've met in ours they all seem pretty nice and down to earth. We are like a little sorority that has to have each other's backs[well in a perfect world at least] :)

@Shaden Mohamed Yeah, there has to be some kind of miscommunication there. When you get to the NU courses they take 2 academic years to finish. If you don't start those classes right now I don't see how you can graduate in 2024 when they only start NU 101, 102 etc. classes in the fall. If they are starting you in the fall of 2022 with stats, human inheritance, and religion then you'll be behind and fall under the 2025 cohort. Maybe there is something I am missing. Let me know what they say!

@Shaden Mohamed Hey Shaden, unfortunately, it doesn't sound like it. My understanding of how SJC works is that you must finish everything before the Fall semester so that you can proceed to clinical which can only be started in the Fall. NU 201 is like an intro course to our core NU classes and that is a must also before clinical and that class is only offered in the Spring as far as I know. So if you start your classes by Fall 2022 then you will have to wait until Fall 2023 to even start clinical which would put you at graduating in Spring 2025. @Shaden Mohamed OK, second year, second semester is exactly where I am in the program. Are those the only classes you need? I am taking Human inheritance also, we might be in the same class ? When you get a chance see if you are also taking the NU 201 course. Definitely see if that is what you can take this Spring once you are accepted and the registrar gives you the Nursing major. If so you will be with me and my cohort!

@Shaden Mohamed Hey! It's great to finally hear from someone who is potentially going to the same school as me! From what I know usually their religion 168 class is a class that is hard to transfer so most people need it to move on to the core classes. Were your credits evaluated? If you have in fact finished all of the prereqs then that is great! SJC only does a Fall start for Nursing courses so if you are to start soon you should be getting accepted now since classes start officially tomorrow. There is a NU 201 course that we all must take before our core classes and hopefully, they will accept you in time to register. There are 13 seats open in the morning class and 2 open in the afternoon class. I don't know if other students are just really late with registration or if some of them have declined their offer. I'm hoping one of those seats is for you! A 3.69 is better than what I had so you shouldn't have any problems! This school is quite expensive some people get turned off by that but it's a private institution with no entry exams or interviews etc. so it makes sense. Please keep me updated. Hi @Jkeri1 I was accepted into the program as a change of major. I will be starting my core classes next fall 2022 so I will be in the 2024 cohort. Were you accepted?

Hi, I'm just starting a forum for Saint Joseph's College for anyone who may be applying to SJC as class of 2024. I am a current student and changed my major as I was finally accepted into nursing school. A little about my nursing journey: I resigned from my government job in 2018 I went back to CUNY 2019 with a GPA of 0.9. My advisor told me even if I got all A's I would never get into nursing school. Still I went back to finish what I started when I was 20 years old 12 years later. I left an unhappy job and decided to pursue my dreams in nursing. I stumbled my first semester but then I was determined to get good grades so, I persevered and did most of my classes at CUNY. I followed the transfer model from SJC and registered for classes at CUNY I knew would transfer over and will go towards the nursing curriculum. When I finally got a 3.0 GPA I put in for a transfer to SJC I was not accepted into the nursing program on my first attempt. Instead, I was placed on the waiting list where I was then told all seats were full. I continued in hopes of a health administration degree. Although I was working towards a BS in HA I still wanted my dream of becoming a nurse so I made sure that every semester I emailed the director to see if there was a spot for me. For my electives, I chose prereqs for the nursing program. My GPA also increased to a 3.64. Lo and behold when I had one year left in school I was contacted and told that there was a spot for me in the 2024 cohort. I quickly accepted and now my nursing journey continues. I start clinicals next year fall (2022) any other classmates out there? We gotta stick together. I'm excited and nervous!
