Hey! Sorry your interview was not welcoming. You can definitely work and have a life while doing this program. It is online and the first two semesters were once a week. After that additional days for clinicals. I think directors have to say that because everyone is different as far as how they study and deal with stress. It's not easy but definitely do-able. Hey! So after my application status changed to faculty screener assigned, there were no other changes. Even now after being accepted, my application is the same and there are no green checks on my checklist. I did see the online application deadline changed even though the deadline on the downstate.edu page did not. Not sure what's going on ??‍♀️. My recommended filled out the questions asked on the form and attached a full letter at the end of the form. Hope this helps and good luck!!

Hey! Your online application status should update once assigned a faculty screener. I later recieved an email for interview with the director of the program to pick a date that I am available. After that, I recieved another email a few days later with my acceptance letter, directions to accept offer and send needed documentation for entry to the program. I hope this helps and good luck!

Hey! The deadline has changed a few times. I think them transitioning it into a BS-DNP only has affected the amount of applications they are getting. They are probably allowing more time so more people can apply.

Hey! I applied end of August. My application status updated to "Faculty Screener Assigned" in early January. I received an email on 2/6 for invite to interview on 2/14. Hope this helps and good luck! ?

Hey! First of all, congrats on nursing school and good luck on your NCLEX next year! As for you question, I'm not sure about everyone else but I feel it's hard to answer as everyone learns and takes stress differently. Personally, I feel like it would be a lot to start a new job in L&D and a master's program fresh out of nursing school but that is ultimately up to you. I know many people who went straight from BSN to MSN with and without work experience. Admission requirements for the program asked for 1 year of clinical experience preferred and a letter of recommendation from a professional colleague. You might find it beneficial to work for at least a year to get a better understanding of what you want and how to move forward. Also SUNY Downstate is, for future cohorts, only offering a DNP in WHNP and FNP. Just FYI, not sure if that was something you were considering. Good luck again!
