QCC (queensborough) Nursing fall 2021
That's why I replied to one of their past messages. I wasn't anticipating or expecting an associate's degree to take as long as a bachelors (4yr). Then again, when I had spoken to nursing dept last year, shortly before I registered AP1 -- they had given me the impression that I only needed 4 preclinical courses NOT 9... Also knowing that payment plans for the fall start somewhere in the Summer... I would hope we would know/receive notice before that happens, No, no news at all. ? My cousin who had graduated from a different CUNY RN program years ago just gave me a ton of his notes/materials from his first nursing classes. Since I'm not taking anything Summer session, I'm spending a few hours daily reviewing/studying his notes... so I don't forget how to study! I know it's not the same classes, but I"m feeling like I just can't slack this Summer. You know?

Hi! I haven't been able to find any info about how many classes we enroll in per semester.. Do students take one clinical per semester or are NU 101 and 102 taken together, NU 201 and 202 taken the next semester and then the three credit course the next fall? There are no clinicals offered in the Summer, correct? Thanks so much.

One has been posted since yesterday, the other is not. I realized I misread our academic calendar and the last day to post official grades is tomorrow (Friday). having said that, I’ve been routinely checking email since Monday. It’s going to be the best-worst Friday before a long weekend. fingers crossed for all applicants on the thread!

Full time job and prerequisites
Hi, I know I'm late to replying, but have been in a similar boat for the last two semesters (I started a Summer A&P 1 class exactly a year ago). That class was the first of 9 prereqs I needed to complete for the RN program I applied for in the fall. Then emerged from quarantine and returned to full time work shortly before fall semester. My bachelors (2005) is an unrelated degree. My job is an unrelated (mostly) industry. If you are not as strong in science/math, I don't recommend you follow this. But also remember to check what the enrollment requirements are in your state, because you could get a tax credit for being a student (full time vs part time). So for fall (with a full time job), all classes were all remote -- I took evening lecture/lab for A&P 2, evening lecture/lab for statistics, Saturday morning english lit, and asynchronous intro to psych. This Spring, I'm still working full time, with all remote classes -- evening lecture/lab Microbiology and asynchronous developmental psych. I was able to waive algebra and english 101. but I had to complete A&P1, A&P2, micro in that sequence. My advice is to strive for balance now, make sure you do well in your prereqs and entrance exam. This way you'll have a solid application. Good luck!

Anatomy tips
I'm glad someone else mentioned an anatomy coloring book. That helped me a lot even before taking the course. I still had to work to be able to identify parts in a cadaver view -- but the coloring aspect really helped me learn names and positions in body. I did not use the book mentioned above. This is what I used: https://www.amazon.com/Netters-Anatomy-Coloring-Updated-Science/dp/0323545033 I thought colored pencils and pens worked best.

QCC Nursing fall 2021
I wish I had created this account and asked sooner.. would have saved me some stress yesterday. I know my micro grade won't be up until tomorrow.. I still have the final tonight (wonder if any of my classmates are on this thread). My other class finished over the weekend... I hope we both get accepted. At my interview, the professor had said that we would definitely get an email and/or snail mail. Thank you for the info.

What helped me a lot for online lab was to watch more videos of the lab procedures (besides the ones recommended by the professor). And for lecture, definitely try to read ahead if you can. I managed to stay on top (or ahead) of the textbook readings until maybe 5 weeks ago. It's a lot, but it is doable.
