My concern with the "recommended staffing ratios" is that they were written for large institutions. When you work in a small hospital like ours, it is very frustrating...
We recently began using the PBDS in our hospital. It is used to help you and your manager know where you need more experience so that you get a proper orientation. :) Don't worry, you will do fine.
Good Luck to you in your endeaver!!! I am an ADN and have worked Labor and Delivery for 15 years and love every minute of it!! Just knowing at the end of the pain and frustration of your labor patient, you have helped bring a miracle in to the world. It is just the best!!
