Hi guys, years ago I entered a 3yr consent agreement after diversion. I completed that agreement and now have an unemcumbered license in Texas. I am in the DFW area. I was a board order though and not TPAPN so it will forever be a part of my record and will show I was disciplined when a professional license background is ran. I applied for my dream job and on the application they asked if your license had ever been subject to discipline or sanction. I checked yes and was given a box to explain. I interviewed and was offered the job. Now that I am waiting on background I am becoming increasingly nervous again. Its a horrible feeling. I know most, if not all, the hospitals in in the Dallas/Ft Worth area will not hire a nurse with stipulations but what about after you complete your board order? I start to worry that maybe they didn't pay attention that I checked yes to the question. I worry that even though my license is now unencumbered they are going to see the history and rescind my offer. Does anyone possibly have any insight into such a situation?
  2. Years ago (2009) I did this and it was a terrible idea on my part. I was in Arkansas and endorsed to Texas but had to do both states. Twice the monitoring, twice the reports, everything.
  3. Same here and I am in Texas
  4. No I didn’t divulge it on the application unless they specifically asked about it. Some hospitals do ask in their applications. Otherwise when I actively had stipulations on my license when I went to interview I took a copy of my board order so that when I told them about it they could look over my consent agreement and ask questions if needed.
  5. The stipulations will fall off but the record of the discipline will always be public record unfortunately.
  6. I’m in Texas and completed my board order back in June. It was for diversion but the discipline on my license will always be public record even though I now have an unencumbered license. For the last 3 yrs I worked psych since they would hire a nurse with stipulations but I really want to go back to the acute hospital. Does anyone in the Fort Worth area know if they are going to look at my prior discipline and refuse to work with me or since I’m now unencumbered will I be able to get a job without worrying about the past discipline being a factor?
  7. Hi guys. I’m a nurse in the DFW area. I have been on stipulations from an event (diversion) that happened back in 2006-2009. Anyways I am nearing the end of my stipulations and want to find a different job once I complete my stips. Because they are still friendly I have been in psych for 3 years but I want to go back to an acute care hospital, particularly in Fort Worth. Anyone done this and was it difficult to back into a hospital setting? And will the fact I was on a board order hinder my employment options?
