  1. HI @ACCRN2012 I am sorry to hear your attempt was unsuccessful again. This was a very difficult test in my opinion. I see you have used the common study materials.... maybe we can talk more about your study plan. How many hours per day/ week? where are you studying what's your regular life schedule like how about quizzes
  2. Well done! you already have your FNP-BC ! I hear you, and I think we all share that frustration with the lack of resources with PNP-AC boards. As I got closer to my test date, I used quizlet a lot! The test was a struggle for me, so practicing test questions and applying my knowledge ended up being really helpful. There actually happens to be a lot of applicable quizlets for this test/ material. https://youtu.be/w5m9bXI3Dz0?si=KozRkoIJ0DWrGC9s This is a great YouTube reference I really enjoyed. As far as lippincott, I think more resources can't hurt... Just know your outline and the material and be able to use your knowledge and apply it to all kinds of questions! Give it your best shot and you WILL be okay!
  3. thanks for the info. I would be happy to talk more... how about you send me an email so we can connect? you're not alone and one thing about this profession is that we support each other. So lets talk more and see how you can get over this hump!!
  4. @cardo10869 HI! im sorry to hear you have been struggling so bad! That is truly unfortunate, especially with a passing score just two points away. I was in your shoes at one point in time. May I ask, what are you doing to study? What have you done differently in between attempts? how long are you studying for / daily and for the test in general? How have you felt going into the last few attempts? ready/nervous/prepared? Maybe we can talk about where your at, what your feeling and maybe I can give you my insight if your interested. Anyway, HANG IN THERE, it is possible and you CAN do it. :)
  5. I agree NAPNAP online review.. was a bit basic.. and I was disappointed that the questions and content stays the exact same; (I had to buy it twice.. bc it had expired). I was hoping for new material when I had done NAPNAP for my second and third times. But I did stay engaged in those videos and use it as one of my tools. I suggest hammering down on your content. You should know diagnosis/ assessment and management for all of the major diagnosis that come up in NAPNAP. I used the recommended textbooks, NAPNAP, Osmosis videos, lippincott, quizlet, and of course the PNCB drills. On quizlet, Search AC PNP or any of those types of titles and you will actually find a lot of study cards. I would make myself answer or speak to each topic out loud before flipping the card. It was great practice. I almost ran out of time on my final attempt, and was pretty close on my others.... just hang in there stay focused and if your hung up> flag and move on. hang in there, its a rigorous test! you can do it. don't rush to take it, I would be confident in your knowledge before going in. you got this!
  6. @TxJaxB Hello! For reference, I did my first attempt as soon as I was approved to take it after graduating and getting clearance and making the appt ...(I studied for about 4 weeks) IN my experience, we had a mandatory 90 days between each testing attempt so the second time was right around that mark for me. and for the third was a little longer than the 90 days.. I would say 90 days + 2 additional weeks. Basically I got between 8-12 weeks of studying on my latter attempts. Are you able to retest within 90 days? Regardless... I would focus on your ability/ knowledge/ confidence in the material and not so much the time frame. It's better to be over prepared than under prepared.
  7. Thank you so much for commenting on this post! I will look into both of your recommendations, I have also been told to practice case studies. And I very much like the idea of listening to a podcast in-between studying time like while driving! I just ordered the Nelson Pediatrics Board Review: Certification and Recertification book; and will be trying this one as well. BEST of luck on your next go at this exam!!
  8. Thank you for your kind message. I wish there was more out there as far as resources for this exam! please be in touch if you find something that works
  9. Welp- I'm in the same boat; I have now failed the AC PNP exam twice! I have done the lippincott review book, read the pertinent chapters in the Reuter- bolick textbook, done all the pncb drill quizzes multiple times, done over 700 stat pearls questions , did the online NapNap review course twice! This second time around I really felt like wow. Maybe I needed this... concepts and approaches are sticking more naturally. I felt as if I was truly understanding the thought process behind assessment, mgmt, and diagnoses. I went in nervous but very hopeful and still confident I could be successful my second time around. Unfortunately and gut wrenching- the last screen says failed attempt! I'm at a loss. And I'm even more devastated that there are little to NO resources out there for AC PNP certification prep. Why does the PNCB have such mediocre pass rates for this exam? And offer no support or remediation or resources? Some folks have said I should take an exam taking strategy course... I'm open to it and will look into such. anyone have words of wisdom- I can use them ??❤️‍?
  10. I know this thread is a bit dated, but I am looking for some opinions on same subject matter. I was admitted to Vanderbilt & UCSF PNP-AC program. I live and work in central California. after research I think both schools are around 60-70k for two years.. Vandy offers more remote based learning with scheduled mandatory learning sessions in Nashville. Anyone have any info on UCSF?
  11. Hi All! I got accepted into UCSF 2021 PNP-AC program as well as Vanderbilts PNP-AC program for fall 2021... I live and work in central CA; need to maintain at least PT work to fulfill my financial responsibilities. I know Vandy is mostly online with concentrated blocks of in learning in TN throughout each semester. I am trying decide what program fits best. Anyone have any insight on UCSF's program vs VANDY and how the curriculum, length of study, tuition compares? or any thoughts.. at all.. Much appreciated!
