  1. For those who are starting this fall, when & where are you doing your BLS-CPR certification?
  2. Hi Shafal, I had planned on applying to the bridge program & applied to the traditional program as a backup & was accepted. After speaking to my advisor I chose not to apply to the bridge as clinicals are on the weekends which isn't ideal with young kids at home. Sorry, not much help! Have you taken any pre-reqs at OSU-OKC? That's how I've met other applicants, so maybe that could be an option? I am a lab tech for anatomy & work with someone who just finished his first semester as paramedic-RN, but he didn't have a ton to share with me in regards to actually getting in. LOL
  3. Hey! I know some of the past groups of accepted students have made a facebook group to keep in touch, if anyone comes across or makes one, could you post it here so we could join? I only have a facebook for minimal use, so not too savvy on there! I don't know anyone personally who got in, and it'd be nice to navigate all of this with people in the same boat.
  4. Yaaay!! So happy for everyone!! ? Now we just have to stress about the 483 things we have to get done by the deadlines! ? I’m SO excited to get started, though. I’m curious how many people applied & how many spots there were, considering the high point cut off. My best friend didn’t get in, which sucks, but should be good to go for Spring even if the points are as high.
  5. Any news yet, Dani? ?
  6. I’m in!
  7. Congrats! ?
  8. My husband got the email & it shows an envelope coming today. Now just not so patiently waiting!
  9. No kidding! I keep checking my school email because some of the past threads have mentioned emails, I'm sure it's a long shot, but my anxiety is awful with this stuff!!
  10. Ahh, I can only imagine how you’re feeling right now! Hoping your mail person is an early bird tomorrow!! ?
  11. Thank you NursRatched!! Gaw I hope the mail comes early tomorrow!! LOL ???? Just picked my daughter up from school & the first thing she did was run to the mailbox, she’s as anxious as I am to hopefully make it official!
  12. Congratulations! ?? Do you mind sharing how many points you applied with?
  13. No mail for me today ?
  14. Dang it!! Do you live locally, was hoping it’d come today. ? My mail hasn’t arrived yet, & my husband didn’t receive the email that he usually does saying what is coming. Hoping yours comes tomorrow!!
  15. My husband gets an email every morning about 10am from USPS that shows what’s coming in the mail that day (IDK how you sign up for that, LOL) so I’ll let y’all know as soon as possible if something is coming! My mail doesn’t actually arrive until at least like 1.
  16. Yes, my best friend applied as well & we were together today & she called. Her points are in the 70s, so not great news for her unfortunately. I feel like 86 is the highest cut off I’ve ever heard from reading past threads. I’m curious how many applicants there were vs spots available.
  17. One of the things mentioned when I called. I feel like when I ask her about applying to the bridge program also, she makes me feel guilty about it because it’s “taking someone’s spot.” Buuut, I tend to be sensitive so maybe I’m just overthinking it. ? & like you said, there’s a waiting list for a reason, which is true.
  18. So I’m nervous because if accepted into the traditional program, we have to accept our spot by May 7. If I apply for the LPN to RN bridge program, they won’t send out letters until July. I want to for sure start this fall, & getting into the bridge program is not guaranteed, so I’d want to accept the traditional spot if I get one, but don’t want to screw someone else. For those of you that are applying to multiple schools, are you going to accept this spot even if there’s a possibility you won’t end up attending if you get in elsewhere? I don’t want to to be selfish, but I do want to cover my own butt.
  19. I’m sorry if telling you made you more anxious!! Mine wasn’t in the mail today so hoping for tomorrow!
  20. I think if you have 86, you should be good. I don’t want to say definitely, but to me, if the cut off is 86 than anyone below that wouldn’t be accepted. Fingers crossed for you, let us know when you find out!! She said she put the letters in the mail yesterday so they probably went to the post office today.
  21. Just called. Letters went out yesterday or today, word on the street is point cut off was 86.
  22. Awesome, thank you for letting us know! Hopefully it's soon!!
  23. Hi! I am a licensed LPN, I applied to the traditional program and am also applying to the bridge program as I haven't decided which would be the best route for me to take. For the HESI LPN mobility exam, I used a LPN NCLEX study book to prepare. I felt it was adequate and worked for what I needed it to. Have you been out of school long? I got my LPN in 2013, so it had been awhile for me. The best piece of advice I can give is to not overthink the questions, revert back to your training and trust your instincts. I'm unsure what the testing is like when you get your paramedic licensure, but I'm sure studying the same tools you used for that would be sufficient. I did pretty broad reviews and then practice tests prior to taking it.
  24. Oh wow, your GPA & HESI are amazing, I bet you're good to go this round! I would've thought your points would be higher with those. Now I'm questioning my calculations!! haha. Micro is the only pre-req I haven't completed yet. Thanks for looking at your last letter, at least we have some sort of reference to go off of!
  25. Do they just send letters, or emails as well? And if emails, do you know if they send those at the same time? How long after the end of the application period did you hear last time? Also, I'm sorry you didn't get accepted last cycle, I'm sure that it makes it more stressful this go round. Fingers crossed for you!! If anyone calls, please update us! I know it hasn't even been 2 weeks, but still. LOL
