  1. Hey there! I'm pretty sure those students found out at the very beginning of school year after orientation, or just before, if I remember correctly. They base the award off the scores you got on your essay (so make sure those are really good). There are other things they consider as well, I think its also based on need and grades? I can't remember exactly. I definitely wouldn't count on those scholarships though.
  2. Sorry your question didn't get answered sooner! A lot of us had this concern as well. Basically we were told the dates are because they only cover from July to June each year, so if you need extra to supplement then you should apply for a third year, but of course that means more of a commitment. If you only apply for the 2 years but then need extra funds to supplement the few months that aren't covered then students will have to find other means like coming out of pocket or other loans. From my understanding anyways.
  3. I think a lot of us are just hoping that we will have good paying jobs and be able to pay off our student loans eventually. Many of us have applied for the Nurse Corps Scholarship, some may be thinking about PSLF but for the most part all of us are just banking on it being worth it in the long run.
  4. Sure. I was accepted into Vanderbilt University for their MSN/NP Program. I choose Vanderbilt's program primarily because it offers the NP specialty I want to pursue and its a 2 year program for the MSN and the specialty NP year. If I were to do it through Western I would only be getting my MSN and then I would have to do additional schooling after that for my NP. I wouldn't mind the extra time for the NP but to my knowledge they only offer the FNP and that is not the specialty I am interested in.
  5. Hey All! I haven't yet posted on this thread but I just wanted to let those of you who are on the waitlist know that a spot should be opening up. I was accepted into the program but I will be declining the offer. Good luck to everyone! Wishing you all the best in your journey!
  6. I was accepted into WHNP specialty as well!
