  1. Waitlisted at two schools? I’m sure that you’ll get in!! People change their minds all the time about what school to attend. If PLU accepted me I would’ve chosen this school in a heartbeat, just because of the lower cost of attendance for myself. You’ll make it in. I didn’t accept the waitlist. That just hopefully bumped you up a spot. Keep your chin up.
  2. Keep your head up. I remember what you told me awhile ago about your circumstances. If I can make it in, you can too!! You deserve this
  3. Hey guys did anyone else just get an email?? I was waitlisted for Spring 2022. Kinda bummed because I was accepted to SU but PLU would be so much cheaper for me.
  4. @NursingSarah Thank you so much!! And I agree, it definitely is a bummer that our past follows us everywhere. Honestly, good for you for applying to ADN programs. You’ll come out on top with less debt. That was my backup plan if these all failed. Good luck Sarah!! Maybe I’ll run into you someday ? Also how did you guys hear about PLU?! Did they just email you or did they email your PLU account? I had no idea the decisions would be so early.
  5. Rejectedddd. ? at least I tried though, proud of myself for that!! I almost didn’t even try but I’m thankful I did. congrats to those of you who were accepted!! That’s a huge accomplishment and you all deserve it
  6. Hi Sarah! Your situation sounds exactly like mine. I started college at 18 but then my dad had a major stroke. He kept having mini strokes after that and they always affected his personality. He had to keep relearning everything all over again and it was just a really hard time in my life. I straight up failed two semesters and then stopped going to school. I reached out to the Saint Martins advisor and she said that because of my last grades (not even in the pre-reqs that I needed), I wouldn’t ever be admitted because nursing is so competitive. it was super discouraging to hear that after working so hard. However, I’m sure you’ll get in somewhere. I was in an occupational therapy program before this and my cohort actually taught the LPN students some things. I think that’s what helped me get into SU. Just don’t give up. @Justyb90, I’m really glad to hear that!! It gives me hope. Honestly I just think Saint Martins is hard to get into if you’re not perfect. They said I was competing against applicants who had 4.0 cumulative GPA’s and they only had 16 spots this year.
  7. Advisors can be that way. Saint Martins essentially told me I’d never get into their program with my grades from ten years ago so I know how it feels.
  8. Hey OrenNurse!! Did you apply to PLU as a transfer or a freshmen? I haven’t heard anything back yet so I’m curious. I’m sorry to hear about that also. I applied to Saint Martins for their BSN and was rejected. I was accepted into Seattle U though. Keep your head up!!
  9. I’m waiting also. But just like April I don’t really have high hopes eitherrr LOL. I couldn’t even get into Saint Martins University for their BSN program. So I feel like I really lucked out with SU. I took my spot. I’m also waiting to hear back from PLU because they’re giving me a pretty decent merit scholarship honestly.
  10. Congrats guys! I also got in! ?
  11. Congrats!! I always wish I would have been more academically involved when I was younger. I’m 28 now and I kick myself for it, but lesson learned I suppose. Congrats again on your acceptance!! You should feel proud, you deserve it.
  12. I have a 3.8 pre-req GPA and I was in an occupational therapy assistant program for two semesters. My cohort and I actually helped the LPN students with their skill check offs so that led the way for me to pursue nursing. I think if I don’t get in this year I’m going to get my EMT certificate and apply again next year.
  13. Thank you ?? I was thinking of getting my EMT license and try for other schools next year. I asked how I could better my application and my advisor told me with how competitive the program is, I most likely won’t get accepted because of my grades from ten years ago when I first started community college (I failed an entire quarter). But my dad had a major stroke which is what led me to healthcare in the first place, so it was kind of a devastating, yet helpful experience. I hope you get in!!
  14. Congrats Bethany! ? I wasn’t accepted. I didn’t have healthcare experience did I did attend an occupational therapy assistant program for a semester. I also had a 3.8 pre-req GPA. And thank you! My interview went well although now I’m wondering if I should get patient care hours.
  15. Thank you so much! Honestly I’d apply for anything that you can as a back up plan. I have a feeling that due to COVID nursing schools are going to be even more competitive with applicants. It’s better to be safe than sorry but that’s still a win.
  16. Congrats! That’s so exciting! ?? I haven’t heard anything back yet, so I’m not sure if they go acceptance first then waitlisted people, then the people who are denied or vice versa. I had an interview for Seattle University this morning so hopefully if I don’t get in to SMU I might have another option. I don’t have any healthcare experience so I’m just hoping it doesn’t hurt me.
  17. I just had my interview and I feel like it went great! I was a little nervous but they made me feel so comfortable. The questions are all behavioral so everyone will do great! Crossing my fingers for us all ?
  18. Hi! I was wondering about this too. I finally caved at 7:00 last night and emailed my advisor to see if I was admitted but they said that the campus is closed. I’m hoping this is why we haven’t heard anything back yet and they’ll let us know today. Crossing my fingers for us both
  19. Hey guys! I didn’t see a form for this so I figured I’d make one since this program is so new! Has anyone heard about whether or not they’ve been accepted into the BSN program to Saint Martin’s University in Lacey, WA? My general acceptance letter Into the college said I’d be notified today however, on another page on the main site it says we’ll be notified sometime in March. I need to prepare for another BSN interview tomorrow for Seattle University so I’d be awesome to know their decision today.
