I'm sorry to hear that! Good luck with any other schools you applied to!! If you don't mind me asking, if you attended the interview, how long afterwards did you hear with their decision?

So a little while after I posted my question I got an email with a confirmation explaining how the interview day will look, steps to do beforehand, what to bring with you, etc. So that answered my question? But the email came several days after I confirmed, so I'm sure it's on its way if you accepted it!

For those that got an invite, did you get a confirmation email after you accepted/confirmed the interview date and time?

I'm so sorry for the late response, the website wasn't letting me sign in, so I wasn't able to reply until I figured that out! Congrats again on the acceptance to DePaul! I definitely like the CNL focus throughout the program. If you would like to pursue any type of leadership roles in your nursing career, then I'd definitely recommend a program that has a CNL focus/certificate option. Without going into too much personal financial detail on an open forum ? I will say that Elmhurst was the most helpful out of my three school choices (DePaul and Rush being the other two) with financial options. I reached out for help and they were very accommodating and helpful in that regard. I do want to stress that I do not know anyone else's financial situation in my class so I can only speak from my experience, but financially speaking, Elmhurst was the smartest decision for me. I'm fairly certain the tuition is cheaper in general than all the other schools as well. The shorter commute and free parking for graduate students was definitely a financial plus for me, because commuting to the city schools and parking in Chicago would have added on extra costs for me. I would recommend asking each school about your financial options before accepting anywhere. I knew exactly how much I'd be paying at each school before I committed to one if that helps ? Elmhurst does have opportunities to volunteer and give back as well! The nursing program is doing something right now for Feed My Starving Children I believe, and students were able to help out with flu and covid vaccines as well a little while ago. I am in the SNA (Student Nurses Association) which is great, because they help you network and give you some of those opportunities through the club. However, I will be upfront in that it is a grueling program. It is hard (worth it!), but hard and I am not sure how Rush structures it into their program, but I imagine volunteering during school will require a lot of time management on your part no matter where you go. But if it's important to you, it is definitely something you can make work! I kept my job part time after starting school, so I don't have a lot of time between my work and school schedule for extra stuff, but I know that it is there if I would like to take part in it ? I have no idea what kind of volunteer/outreach programs Rush has, so there's might actually be better, but just know that there are those opportunities at Elmhurst (I just can't compare them for you unfortunately)! JS_2022 Hey!! Yes I did end up going there! I'm in my 2nd semester right now ? first off congrats on the acceptance! I personally love it at Elmhurst! My class size is 24 people I think so it's nice and small, which is great! The professors are amazing, they really do everything they can to help you understand the material and because it's such a small class size, you get to know a lot of them personally. I also don't know if location is a factor at all for you, but parking at the school is free which is a nice change from the city. I don't know how other programs are, but lab stuff and books are all included so you're not paying extra for those. They also try and accommodate you as much as possible with clinical sites which is nice? It's a very tough program (like I'm sure all nursing ones are!), but the way they structure the curriculum, I already feel like by the time the NCLEX rolls around, I'll be more than prepared for it. I got into Rush and DePaul too, but what played largely into my deciding factor was the location (distance), cost (this was a big one!!), and the small class size (everyone is so accommodating and we really work together as a class). You also get a mentor from the 2nd year students which has been insanely helpful. Our SIM lab is also really nice and I'm grateful for the resources we have! Hey! I just remember it was with 2 people, a long time professor with the program and the program director. They were awesome and super casual, the first question they asked was just to tell them about myself (hobbies, interests, etc) thats not already on my application. After that it was pretty standard questions, strengths, weaknesses, why nursing, will you be working at the same time etc. They did stress that they think a good support system in and out of school is important and asked about it. But it was really relaxed so I wouldn't be too nervous or anything ?
