Hi Micho87, I will try to answer some of your questions. "Was wondering if you finished the ABSN and was able to get licensed in CA?!" Answer: I am from Oregon and will remain in Iowa after completion of the program. So, I am not sure about that but I have posted this on the fb page which you are welcome to join. The name is "Mercy College of Health Sciences - ABSN Fall 2021 Cohort" and I help manage the page. Their is a few students who will be returning to CA after completion in August. "Did you all find that it was an easy program to get into?" Answer: I personally did not think it was a very hard program to get into. Remember, Iowa does not have the same nursing/job landscape as CA or OR. The pay is less in Iowa so the competition is less intense. Where I'm from, a 30 student RN ADN program at a community college will have HUNDREDS of applicants! However, I had plenty of credits and an above average GPA (3.5 or something). We have 90 people in our cohort with a wide variety of educational back grounds. I imagine that if you fill out all the required paperwork and make sure to get all your stuff in on time, then you should have no problem getting in. Just be sure to promptly follow up with your admissions advisor and do whatever they say. Also, my A&P was over 5 years old and that wasn't a problem. "Are the first few weeks online? Or do you have to be in Iowa" Answer: It would be best to be in Iowa at least a week before the 1st day of class. You will start with labs almost immediately and those are weekly. Also, you're gonna want to get your housing situation figured out beforehand. The program can be quite a bit of work and you don't want to be worrying about anything accept for school work. Hello, Where did you here this? My understanding is that as long as your school is accredited, then you should be okay. MCHS is accredited through the ACEN which I believe is nationally recognized. And at the end of the day, you're allowed to take the NCLEX which is the national exam. I may be wrong but I'd like to hear others opinion on this matter.

I imagine the snow will be an adjustment. How big are your classes? I know its all distance learning but I'm still curious. Do you think that a person would have time to work while doing this program?
